Late this gloriously hot and sunny afternoon Jackie drove us to Eyeworth Pond in search of ducklings.

Cattle

Cattle chewed the cud on the verges of Canterton Lane.

Ponies on road

We made good time to the pond, but an equine trio delayed us taking the last right turn.

A delightfully friendly couple enjoying a picnic in the shade pointed out several paddles of ducks and ducklings. Strong pigments splashed over the surface of the water and the shallow bed.

Jackie alerted me to the arrival of a couple of ponies and a foal. If only I could have made the constantly twitching youngster aware that the flies he was desperately trying to escape were taking off from the flanks of the mare to which he clung.

The young lady by this time had entered the water attempting to catch tadpoles. As I took a couple of these shots I exclaimed “Ursula Andress, eat your heart out”.

This evening we dined on a thick crust pizza to which the Culinary Queen added more cheese and salami, served with plentiful fresh salad.

  1. All the pictures are, as usual delectable but ‘Ursula’ should be absolutely delighted if you are able to show her the images of her …. eat your heart out indeed Bond gal !

  2. The patterns in the water are very lovely and make a great subject on their own. So many animals in your pics always Derrick, and I enjoy seeing them.

  3. I was intrigued by the title of today’s instalment. In the end, I laughed my heart out at your appellation to Urusulla Andress eating her heart out as you shot the new star.

  4. The world is teeming with beauty and life! It should make us smile and be grateful to be alive! Thank you for sharing these photos, Derrick! Your water shots are so peaceful! 🙂

I don’t know who Ursula Andress is (I shall google her), but that young lady is beautiful with such a sweet smile! 🙂

    HUGS to you and Jackie!!!
    <3 ,
    Carolyn 🙂

      1. I just looked up WHEN the film Dr. No came out. I wasn’t even old enough to know what a movie was back then! HA!
Guess I should find a copy and watch it now!

        1. It was about 1962 I think, my first marriage had fallen apart, and I had sired 2 children, I wont say fathered as I was a lousy father to them. 🙁
Like all Bond movies it was/is quite ridiculous really. Ha!!
I suspect Mt Fleming is turning/squirming in his grave, if that’s at all possible! 🙂 HUGS))) :bear:

          1. One of my oldest brothers was into Bond films.
I probably shouldn’t admit this…I’ve never even seen one. And if I ever watch one, I’ll go watch a Sean Connery one. I hear the “newer” Bond actors weren’t as good as Connery. 🙂

          2. I’ve only seen two or three. Some of Connery’s followers were dire. Daniel Craig plays the part very differently – one reviewer said that Bond had grown up – but I think he is the best since the first.

          3. Then I shall have to watch one of Mr. Craig’s Bond films! Mr. Craig is very attractive…but Mr. Connery has such a wonderful voice! 🙂

          4. The current chap playing Bond is probably the best ever. He really seems to fill the part whereas Sean C seemed to act it for what it was ; a jolly good laugh and loads of fun. He never was serious ,:)

          5. Don’t you think that, as he was just 32 years old at the time might. have something to do with that? I’ll wager that at that time so would I at 27years

  5. Your life is just like the movies! Also, to my way of thinking, thinking, thick crusted pizzas are the best. I am not a huge fan of pizza slices that bend in half when you pick them up. In this country, as with so many things, we are divided on this issue. 😉

  6. I love how there are animals walking around (or lying around) everywhere. It looks like a beautiful, peaceful day, Derrick, and an enjoyable adventure. 🙂

      1. I remember that feeling, I had watched both my brother and my sister go through their knee replacements and I kept thinking that my progress seemed like it was taking sooo long. Hang in there and keep up the good work! ?

  7. Oh, the beautiful colours in those photos of the ducks and ducklings! Lovely pictures of the cattle, ponies and foal and of course young ‘Ursula’!
