It was Jessica who posed and photographed this group at Lindum House in May 1990. It is the only one we have of me and my sons all together, with the addition of Louisa. I am hoping it is not too late for Emily’s collection.
I had lost the original source material, but was able to find and scan the prints this morning.
Elizabeth and Frances returned this morning in order to meet Sam, and we continued reminiscing. One of the tales retold was that of ‘Holly’.
Becky, closely followed by Elizabeth returning for the evening, joined us this afternoon. We were able to enjoy a lighter mood, by putting the world to rights and
exchanging photographic childhood memories.
Jackie braved Storm Freya to fetch an excellent meal for us all from Hordle Chinese Take Away.
Wonderful family memories.
Thanks very much, Becky
Beautiful photos, Derrick. I hope they lifted your mood even a little for today.
Thanks very much, Byung. They did help a lot
Beautiful moments well captured Derrick.
Thanks very much, Rupali
Family holding the memories dear. A special day.
Yes, GP. Many thanks
Nice to see the family gathering and smiling Derrick. I now quite fancy a Chinese takeaway and it’s only 8 am……
Thank very much, Pauline X
I thought I’d just have a quick look in before having my tea. Now I’ve seen you in those shorts I’m not sure I feel like eating. š
Apart from that, those are two great family shots. I now wish I’d taken more photographs as our two were growing up.
š Many thanks, Quercus
I was thinking of you today when I visited Newark.
That’s nice š
We could have had a curry – it was a bit windy for anything else.
Aren’t photographs of family wonderful!
They are, indeed, Clare. Many thanks
OH, what a wonderful time with family!
Beautiful family, beautiful photos, beautiful memories!
(((HUGS))) for all! š
Thanks very much, Carolyn X
Looks like fun times
Thanks very much, Mrs W
Your welcome
It’s wonderful to look at old photos with others and compare memories—someone always remembers something we don’t and completes the story.
That’s just how it works, Oglach. Thanks very much
Lovely photographs prompting lovely memories for you all.
Great photos Derrick, special memories for you all x
Thanks very much, June X
Beautiful family Derrick.
Many thanks, Cindy
Wonderful pictures!!!! So great to get together to look at photos and tell stories.
Thanks very much, Laurie
Heartwarming memories frozen in time and acting as launchpads for trains of recollections. The beauty of the images reminds me of Keats haunting observations.
Very many thanks, Uma. Lovely reference
Have a lovely week Derrick!!!!
Good pictures Derrick, glad for you that you found them!
Thanks very much, Andrew
It’s good to see happy and smiling faces in the home! – Even better when you can share some good Chinese take-away! Hope the appetite and your digestive issues get better soon. š
Thanks a lot, Bob
Derrick, So nice to go back and capture all those happy memories in life with your loving family. Keep going and cherish all those happy moments in life and continue to look forward to the next chapter. You have a lot of happy things to look forward to in the future as your family and you continue to grow and mature. Embrace and take it all in !
Very many thanks, Gary
The gathering and remembering stories does seem to help after a bit. Old family photos are the best.
True, Cheryl. Thanks very much
The pictures of you and your sons (and Louisa) really made me smile. They’re a great find. They are the essence of good humour and happiness.
Thank you very much, Susan
Glad you found the pictures of happy times together.
Coincidentally, my sister used to live in a Lindum House in Sutton Coldfield.
What a coincidence, indeed. Thanks a lot, Sheree
Lovely photos
Thanks very much, Dad
Lovely photograph Derrick
Ah yes, the 80’s/90’s and short shorts! š … great picture with lots of smiles. š
Thanks very much, Widders
It is nice that you could share family memories and photos–and Chinese takeout!
Thanks very much, Merril
Those are beautiful family photos, Derrick!
Thanks very much, Lavinia
It is good to see so many smiles as you look over photos together. I recently was given two photos of my family on the day of my mother’s funeral. One was somber and in the other, even I smiled. I can’t imagine what made me smile that day, but the picture does not lie.
Many thanks, Pleasant. š
Don’t Hordle Chinese Take Away deliver? Time to find one that does methinks, Fancy sending the wife out in that, even I would stoop to that. I’d let my lot go hungry
Mr Chan doesn’t deliver. I can’t get Jackie to accept home delivery of anything. She prefers to go out and hunt it
I always thought it was the man who went out hunting, Mr Chan wouldn’t last long here!
It’s always nice to go over old photos with family and friends.
Yes, indeed. Many thanks, LL/PS
