Light-headed

I was wondering round the garden with a camera when Shelly arrived for a morning coffee visit with congenial conversation.

Raindrops bejewelled various pelargoniums,

keeping fuchsias like Mrs Popple, and

salvias Amistad

and Hot Lips glistening.

Honesty seed pods sparkled,

Penstemons and marigolds are either early or late,

while the viburnums Bodnantense Dawn are definitely early,

and rose New Dawn displays a new bud over the Rose Garden pergola.

Like the garden I felt brighter today, although, like Schoolgirl rose, a bit light-headed.

This evening we dined on more of Hordle Chinese Take Away fine fare with which Jackie drank Hoegaarden and I drank another glass of the Fleurie.

  1. The rose image is gorgeous but my favourite is the honesty seed pods. The photo looks like abstract art. Someday, someday, I too shall have a glass of the Fleurie. It seems such an appropriate wine for one who spends so much time in the garden.

  2. So glad you are feeling better, Derrick! 🙂
Please rest and send that light-headedness packing!
Love all of the gorgeous flowers…and the raindrops are beautiful, too!
    HUGS!!! 🙂

  3. The differences in climate between north and south still manage to surprise me, and in such a small country as ours.

Your flowers are still looking amazingly beautiful, whereas up here further north we have hardly a bloom left to show, though we quite high up.

  4. I just realised that “pelargonium” is a flower with all five vowels in it. The next time you’re in a traffic jam, trying to find a second one might be a good game to play.

  5. As always, you took me on a gorgeous walk through your garden. Thank you, Derrick. There are no colorful flowers in our neck of the woods this time of the year!

  6. Enjoyed your post and pictures Derrick, being a poet I couldn’t help noticing that if you put all your descriptions of each picture in complete writing form, you will have actually created a lovely poem.
    Cheers
