I was nominated by my friend Judy Dykstra-Brown to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. I may not make it to the end of ten days, but for now I nominate Tootlepedal . Please link to me so I know you have participated. If you are not interested, no problem. Nowhere in the rules does it say you can’t guess where the photo was taken and that I can’t agree if you are right. Derrick
Reminds me of Uzes
Not bad. Very close, Sheree. Thanks a lot
?
I’ll check you pictures and links, but please do not nominate me. Thanks.
Thanks a lot, GP. I won’t
Great photo. I have no idea where it is.?
Thanks very much, Merril. Two people have got the country so far.
Beautiful postcard picture!
Thank you very much, Uma. Taken on film about 12 years ago
I haven’t seen skittles like that since I was VERY young!
🙂 Thanks very much, Anne
My first instinct was France but it would be interesting to know. A large amount a skittles!
You are quite right, Helen
Cool!
Oh good. I love the photo…
Thanks very much, Judy – especially for the inspiration to persevere
Lovely photo, Derrick.
Nice photo! From the other comments, I have learned that you took the picture in France, homeland of my ancestors. 😉
Yes, indeed, Laurie. Thanks very much
France is the homeland of half my ancestors!
🙂
For me it’s probably 100 percent. 😉
A good provenance in my view
Using my best detective skills, I guess that this is in the south-west of France, and I think that the skittles are quilles. ?⚘
Very good, Sally. Thanks very much
South of France for sure – maybe Avignon.
Very close, Andrew. Thanks a lot
A most inspiring toy store!
I thought so, Janet. Thanks very much
I love that wagon. I have mo guess of location. I do not know much other than famous landmarks in your country.
Thanks a lot, Mrs W. A toyshop in France c2008
Intresting.
Great photo Derrick but I don’t know for the life of me where it is.
Never mind, Agnes. A number of people have guessed France. Thanks very much.
Good Luck with the 10 days. 🙂
Thanks a lot, Chrissy
🙂
A Toy Shop! Yay!!! 🙂
A beautiful photo, Derrick! Lights, shadows, textures, details, colours, items…interesting expression on the lady’s face. 🙂
Love the little wagon!
Were you there on business? Holiday? Family?
(((HUGS))) 🙂
A day trip from my house in France. Thanks a lot for the appreciation, Carolyn. X
What are those things bundled together?
Skittles or bowling pins (quilles in French). Thanks for reading and asking, Dolly
Ah, so you are in France. Thanks for the hint.
🙂
I am very flattered by your nomination but since I am a very poor traveller, all my photographs would be of Marseille, the only place abroad that I have been to for many years (you can get there by train in a day from London) and the game would soon be up for guessing where I was.
Under the circumstances, I hope that you can find a better traveller than me to nominate.
Thanks very much, Tootlepedal. No problem. I am having the same difficulty myself – not being much of a traveller yet living in a tourist spot which I can’t really use.
I hope that you get someone who relishes the job.
🙂
That is a nice photo Derrick. I am coming in late here, so I know from the comments this is France. Rick and I were in Avignon in 2000.
I’m pleased you like it, Lavinia. Thanks very much
I don’t know where the photo was taken but I know I love the shop ?
I loved it, too, Ribana. c2008. Thanks very much
A good one Derrick. I wonder about the beautiful things inside the shop 🙂
Yes, indeed – intriguing entrance. Thanks very much, Rupali
I wondered what goodies were inside as well. It looks as though the woman is holding her wallet and contemplating making a purchase.
Nicely observant, Liz. Thanks very much
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Very nice, Derrick!
France, near the house you used to have there, but I can’t recall where it was. The car number plate could have been a clue, if only I knew what a French number plate looks like. Nice photo.
Correct, Quercus. Thanks very much
It looks a nice place. I now regret not being more cosmopolitan in my youth.
Names? Arles? Somewhere south west-ish France…?
Definitely South westish (no, WP not wettish)
Carcassone?
Close enough. Well done
Thanks very much, Jenny. Good to see you here.
That should’ve read Nimes- hate this corrective text!
Me, too – and they won’t let us put our own words in the dictionary.
I love this shot!
Thanks very much, Dwight
