Piet Mondrian’s Pigments

Just as the sun was thinking about sinking into Mudeford Quay today,

gulls circled the Wolf Moon,

or basked in the bay,

in which a man stood on the sandbank and another walked his dog along the reddened shingle.

Easier to focus on the reflected sunlight bouncing off glowing windows

It took me a while to regain my vision from the first picture in this post, and from others that followed.

Until the golden orb dropped behind the Sailing Club window Piet Mondrian’s pigments plastered the single pane.

One more dog walker took advantage of the low tide.

This evening we dined at Lal Quilla. My main course was chicken Jaljala, Jackie’s, chicken Korma. We shared egg fried rice, egg paratha, and sag bhaji; and both drank Cobra. The food and service was as good as always..

  1. I had to look up Piet Mondrian, and now understand the reference. Your photos are beautiful, and those molten sundown colors warm the spirit. The reflection of he windows on the water was particularly nice.

  2. You have romanced well with the celestial orbs, and the orbiters of the orbs. The windows and water surfaces are dazzlingly lit and make for pretty photos.

  3. From the mythology of the Wolf Moon to the paintings of Piet Mondrian, you have captured a splendid ending of the day.

  4. Ooh! Piet Mondrian! Great title! His tree paintings are faves of mine! 🙂
Gorgeous photos of a beautiful day! You captured so many of nature’s bestest colours!
I had to put on my sunglasses to view a few of these photos! 😉 Ha! Just teasing! 😎
    (((HUGS))) 🙂

    1. When I took each of those pictures I couldn’t see anything else for a while. Jackie tried to point out a cormorant. I had no idea what was there. Thanks very much, Carolyn X

  5. Piet Mondrian is spot on. You did a beautiful job with the moon photo. I have such a hard time capturing the moon. I also admire the nighttime light reflections on the water. My favourite from among these is the image right before Piet Mondrian, with the silhouetted seagull against the sunset.

  6. The moon and the gulls is a striking photo, as are the two with light on the windows. The man on the sandbar looks as though he has a different type of thermostat than other walkers. I expanded the photo to make sure he was wearing shorts. I do enjoy seeing what you see!
