Salads And Roast Chicken

It is now reasonably clear that our heavy colds are Covid related. Jackie and Becky were about three days ahead of me and are rather better today.

I am still not up to much, but I have posted https://derrickjknight.com/2022/04/04/a-knights-tale-122-the-thames-in-south-oxfordshire/

This evening we dined on Becky’s roast chicken, tasty tuna/pasta and potato salads. Again no-one imbibed

  1. So sorry to hear that you are all under the weather – but glad that Jackie and Becky are on the mend. Hoping you will soon be feeling much better too, Derrick. Your supper looks perfect to help with recuperation.

    1. It was a supper perfectly designed for the purpose by Becky, who, even two or three days ago would have been too ill to do it, Emma. Thank you very much.

  2. So sorry to hear this. Glad you are all heading in the right direction to being well again.
The food looks yummy and good for the body and soul.
    Please rest and get well.

  3. Gosh, you folks make sure to take it easy and fully recuperate. It’s good you have been immunised, so you didn’t get the full blast of that virus.

  4. Have you all been tested, Derrick? My husband also had a cold last week and went into a panic attack because we had been expecting grandkids to visit, but I convinced him to get tested, and he was negative. Just a cold; and I wish you the same.

    1. Thank you so much, Dolly. It is over a week since the last tests – one negative, one positive. Whether we have it or not the advice is the same – stay indoors if you can and see it through – not much point in a test.

  5. Here, it’s allergies that are raging through the community. The symptoms are distressingly like a cold, but there’s nothing for it but antihistamines and an early end to tree and grass pollen. I hope your discomfort ends much earlier!

  6. I hope you don’t really have COVID, but it has now reached the stage where most people know someone who has. We have a number of people isolating in our complex. They complain of debilitating tiredness, and have discovered they have to stop trying to fight that and just collapse.

      1. Oh I am sorry for you Derrick, and Jackie and Becky. Even if it does not appear as serious as earlier variants – or the vaccinations are taking the edge off – it’s not something pleasant, either on the body, or your frame of mind.

  7. I’ve been harbouring a sneaky feeling that COVID was trying its luck. I join the rest of the readers in wishing you all a full recovery. Hopefully you will be able to move about s-l-o-w-l-y and get on with everyday things. Just don’t push it.

  8. well everyone has said but I’ll say – take it easy – rest as much as possible – but I’m sure you will all be doing that….

  9. That is such a disturbing occurrence. Please take a lot of rest, all of you there. Sending my heartfelt wishes for your homestead, my friend.

  10. You are aware by now that the reason you didn’t get better sooner is because “no one imbibed.” Right? Soon as you added a bit of vino to your meal, you started to improve, right?

      1. Well shucks, Derrick, I am so sorry. I was being glib and it didn’t work! My condolences! I am praying you are back to 100% very soon and can go back to enjoying life as normal.
