A Walk Round The Garden

After a lengthy session of dead-heading, incidental weeding, trips to the compost bins, and a sit down this morning

I wandered around the garden with my camera. As usual these images are all titled in the gallery.

This afternoon we attended a family gathering at Elizabeth’s with Jacqueline, Joseph, Angela, Danni, Andy, and Ella, with Jack asleep upstairs. Sandwiches from Jacqueline, savoury rice from Angela supplemented Elizabeth’s sandwiches and cake. I drank low alcohol Old Speckled Hen. We brought home various goodies for lunch tomorrow..

  1. I’d forgotten until now that ‘dead-heading’ used to refer to an afternoon spent listening to the music of the Grateful Dead. Maybe it still does. One of their prettiest songs, “Sugar Magnolia,” would perfectly suit a day like the one you describe here.

  2. Always a good visit when you get to bring home leftovers. ?. You have some lovely blossoms. Ours are just beginning, but are looking promising this year

  3. You Day lilies are way in advance of mine… just green tight bud at the moment… 🙂 Lovely photos and garden Derrick
I did lots of weeding in the allotments this morning Derrick… and lots of sit downs too LOL… The rain was needed but those weeds took advantage LOL 🙂

  4. All your hard work always pays off…all of the plants and flowers are smiling! 🙂
The ballerinas, the hanging-baskets plants, the rake and broom are my faves today! 🙂
YAY for family time! 🙂 And yay for leftovers brought home! 🙂
    (((HUGS))) 🙂
PS…we need to get out today and pull the few new weeds that popped up! 🙂

  5. What beauty! You are at least a month ahead of us. We’ll get there in our slow Maine way. Sounds like a lovely gathering with lots of good food.

  6. Your garden is coming along beautifully, Derrick. When you use the term “dead-heading”, I think of the “Grateful Dead” as well.
