Then Jackie and I visited Jools, Sean, and Pumpkin at
where we engaged in enjoyable conversation, Jackie bought a plant, and I
wandered freely with my camera.
Afterwards we went on a foal hunt.
Donkeys on Bull Hill were the first to oblige.
It was only two days ago that we mentioned that we had never seen any
Shetland foals. Today we spied a few through trees at Norley Wood.
A satisfied crow had more success in catching the thatched hare at East End than the chasing fox ever would.
Before dinner I watched the highlights of the fourth day’s play in the Test match between England and New Zealand.
Afterwards the three of us dined on second helpings of yesterday’s Red Chilli takeaway with the addition of Jackie’ s paneer dish with which she drank Hoegaarden, I finished the Fleurie, and Flo abstained.
Glad I saw the picture because I had no clue what a heucheraholic was.?
I didn’t either. I was afraid it had something to do with hermeneutics.

We know huecheras as “coral bells” in my area. We had some of the dark maroon ones.
The donkeys seem to be still shedding their winter coats. I always enjoy seeing them and the ponies, especially the Shetlands. Those littlest foals are adorable!

I had no idea what Heucheras were, and even ‘Coral Bells’ didn’t help me out much. They must not be heat-loving, or I think I would have heard of them. For some reason, I assumed the scientific name of the genus was Spanish, but I see it was named after Johann Heinrich von Heucher (1677–1746), a German physician and Professor at Wittenberg University.

Ah you have done your homework ! Heuchera’s come from North America High up in mountains – down to the woodlands in Mexico – They are tough and very heat and cold tolerant . They were indeed discovered and introduced by the german JohannVon Heucher ..
Your title threw me. I thought heucheras were sandals. But I looked it up and they are coral bells, which I love! And so do the hummingbirds. The donkey babies are so cute, napping and knowing mom is looking out for them.
