Ron And Shelley’s Barbecue

Shelly and Ron had managed to choose a day at the height of the heatwave for this year’s traditional summer barbecue. My leg had improved enough for me to

produce all these photographs without leaving my seat. Each participant is named in the gallery.

We enjoyed Ron’s usual splendid barbecue meats – lamb kebabs, beef burgers, hot dogs, and chicken pieces; Shelley’s wonderful salads; and tempting-looking desserts for which I had no room. Various beers, wines, and soft drinks were on offer. I had just one pint of beer, otherwise water – fizzy or tap.

      1. Better than sun but with high heat and humidity, a breeze would also be helpful (I’m all for AC when the weather gets like that, but I’m a spoiled American.)

  1. Oh, it looks like a wonderful time. Flo is lovely in her pretty shirt and necklaces. I love her whole style. And those super close up shots are just fabulous – Tess in particular. Great job, photographer.

      1. Actually I understand Jodie’s question. When the notification of your post showed up in my email received list, the title was “122027”. I could not make the number sequence into anything sensible. Only when I opened the email was the BBQ title displayed. Another WP foible it seems…

  2. I’m so glad you could attend and take such lovely photos! Those precious faces! Those sweet smiles! 🙂 So many great portraits, Derrick! 🙂
Wonderful conversations! Good memories made! Delicious food! 🙂
It’s so good to see Dillion and Flo together! 🙂 I’m so happy for them!
    (((HUGS))) ❤️

  3. I just love family get togethers.
Flo continues to glow now that Dillon is with her.
I am still amazed at the striking resemblance to you, and could I also see some of your lovely mother in her face?

    1. Actually, Sue, she is the image of her maternal grandmother. We have a drawing Jackie made whence was 15 which could easily have been Flo. Thanks very much

  4. Delightful gallery, Derrick. What a wonderful multi-generation gathering. Was Jackie in attendance? Didn’t see any photos of her smiling face…

  5. LOVE LOVE LOVE the candid capture of children interacting with adults and the beauty of smiles and smiling eyes. Excellent photos Derrick. Hope your leg is improving.

  6. These are lovely! So glad your leg allowed you to be there. I’m wondering about British barbecue now. As a Texan, I’m not approving of Kansas City bbq or Memphis bbq. I’m a bbq snob. But somehow I know this was really good.

  7. It looks like such a wonderful gathering, and your photos captured it so well, I felt like I was almost there!
(All the more impressive that they were taken from your seat.)

  8. Yummy foods and wow, these photos capture so much, really wonderful.
I am one of the only folks in the world that wishes all the bbq’s were in early October
