Picture Resizing Problem Possibly Partially Resolved

Jackie set today’s theme by producing a quartet of bees on a sunflower.

Encouraged by these and, although I have not yet received confirmation of the completion of my WordPress images rescue from Peacock’s who are still working on the task,

I wandered round the garden to add a few – on sedums, zinnias, cosmos, and Japanese anemones. Many other flowers were graced with the presence of pollen gatherers on this warm, overcast, afternoon, but I thought it best not to push my luck without confirmation.

It looks as if new pictures are automatically resized, although older ones are not.

Shelly popped in with an Ellie present later, and was happy to hold her great-great-niece.

This evening we dined on wholesome Shepherd’s Pie; crunchy carrots; firm Brussel’s sprouts; piquant cauliflower cheese; tender cabbage; and tasty gravy. Jackie drank Hoegaarden; I drank more of the Shiraz; Flo and Dillon drank fruit cordial.

  1. Wonderful photos , Derrick, both scientific and artistic . I have never studied so well a bumblebee and the wings organization( the second ailes are attached at the first ones )

  2. I can’t pick a favorite today–beautiful photos by you and Jackie–though perhaps the bee on sedum photos. I’m glad the photo resizing seems to be working. Does the plugin just automatically resize them?

    1. Thanks very much from us both, Merril. I am hoping that will be the case. It seems they are not yet resizing automatically – more likely the on-going process of installation is freeing up space. I’ll learn when it is finished.

  3. Gorgeous photos, Jackie and Derrick! 🙂 Always a joy to see the busy buzzy bees at work! And, ooh, I see one of my fave owls! 😉 🙂
(((HUGS))) to all…and especially to Miss Ellie ❤️

  4. I adore sunflowers. Better still when there are bees on them.

It’s when I post photos using “Gallery” that sizes are altered especially if I post in odd numbers. For example, if I post 3, the 2 above will be same size but the bottom one will be full size. Single photos posted as “Image” can be resized manually.

There’s always something to try us on WordPress.

  5. Perhaps all the many things to learn/remember is WordPress’s way of keeping us Senior users on our mental toes.

Your post title hit the alliteration jackpot this time.

  6. I’m glad there has been some progress on your photo issue. My favorites out of this group are the first of Jackie’s sunflowers for showing the bloom in context and the first of yours for its textural quality.

  7. The pictures are lovely. I am glad you’ve figured out how to resize. Done automatically? How does that work? I am working on my iPhone and little iPad here in Switzerland. Didn’t bring my Mac. So, I’m having difficulty trying to center, size, and generally format my posts.
