Changing Skies

The Modus can still be driven for journeys as short as to Ferndene Farm Shop and back, so this afternoon we purchased provisions there, and without moving away from the Modus I photographed

the changing skies within half an hour.

Later, having discovered how to add photographs which had not been included in my earliest posts, I upped the ante on their illustrations. Here are a selection of those to which I have added photographs and/or header pictures:

This evening we all dined on barbecue sauce marinaded spare rib racks and Jackie’s tasty savoury rice with which she drank Hoegaarden and I drank The Guv’nor Spanish red wine.

  1. Our sky looks similar to yours today, Derrick. It was 66F yesterday and just 47 today with high winds overnight. Summer, come back!

  2. We haven’t had dark skies like that for weeks, and very little rain of late. At school, we were told that “February” came from “fill-dyke”……not this year!

    1. Thank you very much, Lavinia. Your country’s widely contrasting weather news looks alarming

  3. Marvelous sky photos! The tree branches are so intricate in their detail. Soon we will not be able to see this. I’m glad you can at least go for short trips to the farm shop.

  4. I enjoy moody skies – especially if there is rain in the offing! Here we have been experiencing the most beautifully coloured sunrises (already so much later!) and sunsets. Last night I watched in awe as the palette of the sky, once the sun had gone, included a mixture of gold, peach, orange and yellow that mixed effortlessly with violet, purple and so on into grey – with not a cloud in sight.

    1. It is amazing to see that range of colour in the sky without cloud to catch the tinges. Thanks very much, Anne

  5. Gorgeous sky photos! In some of them it looks like the tree branches are gently holding up the clouds! 🙂
    I am a sky-gazer! Always so much to see…daytime and nighttime…especially from those artistic mood-filled clouds! 😉
    (((HUGS))) 🙂 ❤️

  6. Wonderful what you can capture without leaving the car. We are across country from Lavinia, and that storm has now reached us. A very snowy day, but nothing we Mainers can’t handle.

  7. Our weather is spring like but I feel winter is not over yet. Your beautiful photos reflect nature’s moodiness during the transitional months.
