Coming Back To Life

For the last 48 hours I have experienced, along with the usual post-BCG installation procedure discomfort at Southampton General Hospital, the anticipated flu-like symptoms. By late afternoon I was coming back to life and able to tackle picture library culling.

From https://derrickjknight.com/2013/10/12/to-sir-with-love/ I have retained these two images.

More and more I find a museum visit will contain samples from my childhood, as in https://derrickjknight.com/2013/10/17/the-workhouse/.

Here are the survivors from https://derrickjknight.com/2013/10/25/twixt-cup-and-lip/

This evening we dined on succulent lemon chicken; boiled new potatoes; firm broccoli; crunchy carrots; and tender green beans, with which I drank more of the Merlot opened about three days ago.

  1. Lovely images Derrick… I hope you are soon feeling better, Lovely meal you managed to get down you with that glass of wine…. Sending lots of love and healing thoughts your way xx

  2. Great pictures. I love the children’s photos, and Richard the Lion Hearted looks like he’s ready to attack the traffic. I’m glad you’re feeling better.

    1. Thank you so much, Alys. Just one more of this series, which will be repeated at three-monthly intervals for a year.

  3. You have an incorrigible spirit. I find myself impressed with how much you do while having these challenges in your daily healthcare. Derrick, you are a powerhouse, though I imagine you are not really feeling that way lately.

  4. I’m so glad you are feeling better. I hope you can even get some more rest this weekend.
Such a variety of photos in this grouping…some interesting photos, some artistic photos, some beautiful photos and some sweet photos. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) ❤️❤️

  5. I’m delighted the effects are wearing off.
I know what you mean about some museums reflecting our childhood. I take great delight in pointing out items to the family that we had in our home.

  6. I am glad you are feeling better, Derrick. Richard Coeur d Lion sending an army of cars into battle is funny. There is a cast of The Burghers of Calais in the Philadelphia Rodin Museum, so I was lucky to see it live. I must have spent hours on several occasions studying every detail. It is arguably his best work.

  7. I am glad you are feeling better, Derrick, and made time to put together this beautiful post of memories. I remember that movie with Sidney Poitier, “To Sir With Love”, and the song, too.
