I spent much of the afternoon reading more of Elizabeth Goudge’s ‘The Heart of the Family’.
This evening we dined on well cooked pork belly chops perked up with Batt’s BBQ peppery seasoning; boiled new potatoes; flavoursome Brussels sprouts; crunchy carrots; tender runner beans and cabbage, with which I finished the Malbec.
I think I have read and liked Elizabeth Goudge in the past. Fun photos from the past.
Thank you very much, Pat
Ohhh I love a good pork chop! i love Dr. Who too but it’s on a paid streaming service which has ripped me off from watching it now. Greedy!
Thank you very much, John
You are welcome, Derrick. 😎😊
I haven’t had a decent pork chop in too long. I’ve never read Elizabeth Goudge. And you seem to be having some fun culling through your photos! Wonderful, the lot of them. I’m still in awe of the drawing of Granny!
Thank you so much, Dale
You are so welcome, Derrick.
Some fun photos and beautiful landscapes. I day spent reading is well spent!
Thank you very much, Merril
Lots of memories here and more to find by the sounds of it.
Thank you very much, Chrissy
Thank you Derrick for those reshared photos, Loved the Worzel Gummidge ones 🙂
The last one is my favorite from today’s culling. I really like the composition.
Thank you so much, Liz. I doubt that will ever be deleted
You’re welcome, Derrick.
I love the autumnal photos! Sometimes I miss the old Dr. Whos.
Thank you very much, JoAnna. The Doctor has become very pc
Beautiful photos!
Fun photos!
That last photo is gorgeous! The setting/scenery AND the light and shadows art!
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Carolyn XX
When I saw those Worzel Gummage photos juxtaposed with the one of you steaming your head I was amazed. You could probably do celebrity lookalike work, though, as you point out, you would be more suited to the Edwardian dandy Dr Who persona.
Thank you very much, Quercus
A wonderful display of memories, Derrick. I especially like the last photo of the landscape and the tree with the long shadow.
Thank you so much, Eugi
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Test. (I tried for 10 minutes to comment and it wouldn’t send. This is a test.
Thank you for your perseverance Judy. As you can see, I got this
Aha.. Okay, I’ll try again. I guess it is just your Goose-fat post that won’t accept more comments. I love your autumn scenes. As I tried to say before, we don’t get them in my part of Mexico. Also, as to your resemblance to the Goose-fat fellow, I think it is merely a similarity of your pose and your features. You certainly have much more attractive skin and beautiful hair. Very ironic because you are such a handsome man and he is so ghastly.
Thank you so much, Judy XX
Yes, a wonderful display of memories! I’ve rad other Goudge books, but I’ve never read “The Heart of the Family.” Should I add that one to my list?
Yes. It works on many levels as I will explain when I have finished it, Laurie. Thank you very much
Looking forward to the review.
Those autumn images are gorgeous.
Thank you very much, Sue
I think you’re enjoying revisiting your collection of photos. I always do as well. I love the gorgeous fall views. I’m glad you’re enjoying your time reading, culling, and dining with the Culinary Queen.
Thank you so much, Alys. I am, not the least reengaging with comments from the past
Nice!
Funny photos and memories I guess 🙂 And a delicious dinner!
Yes, Riba., Thank you very much
You do resemble Jon Pertwee, Derick, but not the scruffy Worzel. 🙂 I watched the series up through the 6th Doctor., But lost track of it after that.
The autumn scenes are beautiful.
Thank you so much, Lavinia
The best Dr Who
Thank you very much, Gary
It’s great that you have such a wealth of photos
I am really getting the benefit of that now, Sheree. Thank you very much
