The Clink Of The Trowel

Jackie continued her path clearing in the Rose Garden today.

She resettled the white bench at the end of its completed footpath, then continued on the one leading towards the north west corner.

Perhaps it is the clink of the garden tools that has drawn to either Martin or Jackie – whoever has been working there – during recent

days one of Nugget’s descendants, darting to peck up treats and pay

attention when she talks to him.

This evening we dined on pork spare ribs in sweet barbecue sauce and Jackie’s flavoursome savoury rice followed by more of the rhubarb and ginger crumble with which she drank more of the rosé and I finished the Cabernet Sauvignon.

  1. What fun to see one of Nugget’s family in your garden. As much as I love our American robins, I think yours are just a bit cuter, because of their smaller size and those wonderful colors.

  2. Yes, those busy-at-work garden tools can be symphonic! 🙂 A lovely sound! Isn’t ‘clink’ just such a great word!
Nugget’s descendant is a cutie! ❤️ So glad the little cutie is enjoying Jackie! 🙂
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️ for you and Jackie!! 🙂

  3. That bench looks like a beautiful place to enjoy nature. It’s delightful to see Jackie and her friend, the robin.

  4. When we sit outside, which is at least three or four times a day, FabGirl talks to the birds – both in plain English and with surprisingly eloquent and fluent whistles and tweets. The birds do respond, too!
