Walking Into The Sun

Today we experienced warm blue-sky-sunshine with just enough cloud for what was to come. We began with a trip to the dump with another batch of garden refuse in spent compost bags.

After lunch I read more of J. B. Priestley’s “Literature and Western Man”, until it was time to dash down to Barton on Sea to catch the

coastal sunset. The last three of these gentler images were produced by Jackie who was looking away from the direct dazzle.

This evening our grandfamily finished the leftovers from the recent Red Chilli takeaway while Jackie and I dined at Lal Quilla. My main course was tender lamb naga; Jackie’s tasty chicken sallee; we shared exquisite mushroom rice, egg paratha, and seb loo Jalfrezi, and both drank Kingfisher. Service, ambience, and cooking were as excellent as always.

  1. Absolutely glorious photos! It’s interesting to see the different types of clouds in the first pictures. You never know how a sunset is going to turn out. The frog in front of Jackie’s windows seems to be enjoying the sunset, too.

  2. Did you see all the animals lined up on your first clouds? An Elephant or Alligator/shark facing up to three frolicking Scottie dogs..at one point, at least. Gorgeous shots. Who can resist a sunset like this?
And love the silhouettes of folks against its backdrop.

  3. A spectacular collection of dazzling sunset Photos Derrick … I’m not sure which one I’ll select for my ‘Derrick File’

  4. Gorgeous photos, Jackie and Derrick!
The sun and clouds teamed up to put on a brilliant show for you two!!
I love how Jackie’s photos are soft and pastel-y…they make me feel at peace.

  5. Your dinner description made my mouth water. Your sunset images are reminiscent of the photo I have in my living room with the birds in the orange sky. Ah, such a feast for the eyes!!

  6. The photos of sunset over the sea were striking, Derrick, and I enjoyed Jackie’s photo of the reflections in the windows, too. I am glad you two had a wonderful day out, and a good evening meal as well.

  7. Beautiful images from you both, but I was particularly taken with the softer images from Jackie, particularly the sunset reflection.
