A brief walk around the garden today featured
a variety of pink and red camellias, a daffodil, several hellebores and Daphne Odoratas.
This evening we all dined on KFC bargain buckets, sides, and fries, with which I drank Héritages Châteauneuf-du- Pape 2021.
Your garden looks at least a month ahead of anything local. Gorgeous.
Thank you very much, Pat
Nothing like drinking a fine wine with KFC!!
Lovely blooms you have there.
Thanks very much, Dale 🙂
Beautiful, Derrick. Our camellias are also in bloom 🙂
Thanks very much, Rosaliene
I’ve always told you that your garden was special. Hat’s off to the Head Gardener!!
Thanks very much, GP
Daffodils in January? Yowza!
Thanks very much, Liz. Just the one, so far, but more in bud
Wow! Early signs of spring.
Thanks very much, Rupali
KFC Bargain Bucket with Châteauneuf-du- Pape? How dare you? 🙂
????????
I was kidding. Châteauneuf-du- Pape is or was considered to be one of the best wines you could buy and KFC, well that’s fast food, so the combination of the two made me giggle.
Right! ????????
!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so pleased you saw the joke, Bridget
It was hard not too 🙂
🙂 Thank you so much, Bridget
I think you are a good two weeks ahead of us Derrick.
There’s not a shoot in sight in my garden, Andrew, except for a forgotten pot in the garage with small daffodil shoots.
Not even a snowdrop?
Not yet!
Thanks very much, Andrew
The yellow flower with the cone looks like it would be loved by a hummingbird. I’m sorry that you have our fast food there. KFC with wine is an unusual pairing.
Thanks very much, John. This is only the second time I have eaten KFC
There is a KFC walking distance from my home. I’ll eat there once a year.
Beautiful blooms. I have some plants that are sheltered that are still green from last year. A coating of snow and wind break from the house protected them through the extreme cold.
Thanks very much, Andy
You’re welcome.
How wonderful to have flowers at this time of year
Thanks very much, V.J.
Welcome, Derrick
Lovely flowers.
I love daffodils.
I see Jackie took a rest this evening.
Thanks very much, Mimi. She was instructed to rest by the others
Amazing
There are times on a very rainy day here that I get quite envious of your garden in the winter.
Thanks very much, Tootlepedal. You are often ahead of us on some things, e.g. snowdrops
On your brief walk you capture some beautiful winter colours Derrick …
Thanks very much, Ivor
How lovely for you, What a great start for the garden.
Oh, and as for KFC and wine, I doubt there is a dish anywhere that wine does not accompany!
🙂 Thanks very much, Sue
So many lovely flowers in January!
Thanks very much, Clare
Pretty blooms. I hope you enjoyed you KFC. LOL! Héritages Châteauneuf-du- Pape 2021 sounds like a delicious red.
It is, Chrissy. It was a Christmas present. Thanks very much
Nice. I like presents like that.
it is amazing how the flowers push spring trying to get open. On my walk today I saw a bright yellow dandelion blooming along the sidewalk.
Thanks very much, Dwight
you are welcome.
What do you call that white bloom with a yellow center? It’s beautiful.
A Daffodil, Arlene. Thank you very much
Daffodils at work are popping up over here!
Thanks very much, Barbara
Your garden is generous! Beautiful detail!
Thank you very much, JoAnna
I rather like KFC, although I usually accompany it with a nice beer!
Thanks very much, Linda 🙂
Your garden is filled with visual delights – well done to Jackie for keeping it that way! I haven’t had KFC for years, but agree that a good wine pairs well with anything 🙂 🙂
I’m pleased you spotted the wine which caused a certain amount of hilarity, Anne. 🙂 Thank you very much
Oh wow! So beautiful!
Thank you very much, Riba
January blooms! So beautiful! So joyful! Kudos to The Head Gardener! 🙂
And so glad she got a rest from cookin’ and cleanin’! 🙂 Nice to get Colonel Sanders to cook the meal! HA! 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much, Carolyn X
Those early spring blooms are beautiful. I don’t think we’ll see them here for awhile.
Sometimes you should just drink a good bottle of wine instead of saving it for something special! 🙂
Daffodils already! How wonderful
In January! Wowsah!
Unbelievable and Amazing! January bloom! Never even had a thought that it is possible. 🙂
I love the daffodil! What weird flowers they are!
Such lovely blooms, Derrick. KFC and fine wine seems like an interesting combo.
Spring in January! The blooms are beautiful, Derrick. We had a lovely pink camellia bush here long ago, but the site crew disregarded instructions and plowed it over when the new doublewide manufactured home was brought in back in 2012. They were to dig it out and leave it aside for me to replant.
How astonishing. We won’t see them until April.
Lovely blooms.
Flowers blooming in January seem incredible to me.
Thank you very much, Dolly
Youare very welcome, Derrick.
My goodness! Wow… a daffodil in January? Unheard of! Beautiful!! Ours won’t begin to peek out until April or May!!!
Thanks very much, Jan
