A Rest Home Visit

On a miserably wet yet warm morning Jackie transported three more paving slabs from the back drive to the side of the house.

Following his hospital period at the end of September Giles is now comfortably settled in a long term rest home very near his own house. I visited him there this afternoon. He was content and cheerful in a very spacious and well appointed room with very friendly staff.

Afterwards I received a haircut at Sears Barbers and began reading Agatha Christie’s short story ‘The Under Dog’.

This evening we dined on a repeat of yesterday’s Southern fried chicken meal with the addition of a melange of fried onions, peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. I drank more of the Fleurie.

  1. Oh! So wonderful that you got to visit Giles! I bet that brought him much joy! Continued best wishes and prayers for him. Sounds like he is in a good place. 🙂

YAY for a haircut…that always helps a person feel good. 🙂
And then such a good yummy meal! 🙂
Kudos to Jackie on all of her hard, but great work! She’s a gem! 🙂
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️ to both of you!!

      1. It is a win-win situation. You may look suave and debonair, but I spend less on head maintenance and can sit and think of the old saying that God made a few perfect heads and then covered the rest with hair. 🙂

  2. Mmm – your meal sounds yummy – we had pork roast, potatoes w gravy, broccoli and a salad with a red blend from Italy to wash it down. Bon appetit!!😋
