More B/W Photos Retained from 1985

There was not much culling carried out from the post bearing these images:

Another from the garden of the Gite;

Mat, Sam, Louisa, and French farmyard fowl;

Jessica, Sam, and Louisa, watching Punch & Judy in Covent Garden;

and Jessica, Sam, and Louisa blackberrying on Tooting Bec Common.

After drafting this I read more of ‘The Brontës’.

This evening we dined on Jackie’s tasty pork and Bramley Apple casserole; boiled new potatoes; smooth swede and carrot mash; firm Brussels sprouts, Broccoli stems, and red cabbage, with a side of re-crisped crackling. The Culinary Queen drank Diet Coke and I drank Georges Duboeuf Fleurie 2022.

  1. Here in NZ, blackberries were roadside pickings. Then councils hot the idea of weed spraying and suddenly the toxicity not good for human beings

  2. Your old black and white photos are delightfully charming, Derrick .. it’s 7.30 am and I must leave to go to the Authors Book Fair today …

  3. These photos are valuable treasures for sure, like the memories. Makes me wonder how people got by without photos in the days long ago. More storytelling, letters, and drawings, I suppose.

  4. Your black and while photos are memories to be treasured, Derrick. Jackie, the Culinary Queen comes through with another delicious dinner.

  5. Those are all beautiful black and white photos, the first one titled “Another from the garden of the Gite” is a breathtaking portrait of Jessica. I’d retain all of those for all the light in the universe!
