I was nominated by my friend Judy Dykstra-Brown to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. I may not make it to the end of ten days, but for now I nominate Andrew Petcher. Please link to me so I know you have participated. If you are not interested, no problem. Nowhere in the rules does it say you can’t guess where the photo was taken and that I can’t agree if you are right. Derrick
That has got to be the south coast of England. Thanks for the nomination, I will give it a go,
I hoped you would, Andrew. Wrong country. Thanks a lot.
I don’t think I have ever seen a handbag held in the sea before!
Nor me, Anne. Thanks very much
Excellent shot. I’d love to know her story.
Thank you very much, Merril. A film image from September 1982
Great photo! I loved the contrast between the background and the foreground.
Thanks very much, Introverted
Of course! Please call me D!
Certainly D – from one D to another 🙂
This looks closer to your home
Just a bit, Sheree. Thanks very much
I would really like to know what she’s looking at!! This would make a great prompt challenge!!
Indeed, GP. Thanks very much
I agree, GP!
Looks like she is enjoying.
Indeed, Rupali. Thanks very much
If it’s not in Florida, it’s on the Riviera. Or in many others places around the world which offer a sublime pleasure of sailing.
Thanks a lot, Dolly. You are right about Florida.
You are very welcome, Derrick. It looked familiar, so I named the two places where I have enjoyed sailing.
🙂
Looks like a mom watching out for her grown son on the windsurfer – I’m familiar with that stance!
🙂 An amusing take on it, Barbara. Thanks a lot
Well, the lady has to be English! Jersey?
Quite close. Thanks very much, Sue
Haha could be over the water either way then!
🙂
I wonder if she’s quoting Masefield. It looks as though the impulse to go down to the sea again couldn’t be denied!
Nice reference, Linda. Thanks very much.
I had the same thought. Love a photo that tells a story!
I think she’s missed the boat.
🙂 That raised a smile, Jill. Thanks very much
Not being much of a traveler, I will leave the guessing to others. Love the picture of the woman in the water. She looks as though she’s ready to go shopping rather than wading in the shallows.
She does, indeed, Laurie. I’m not much of a traveller, either. It has been a job to find enough pics which are not in the New Forest which might have been cheating 🙂
Go ahead and cheat! For me, the New Forest is exotic and wonderful.
🙂
This is such a great photo! Love her determined stance in the waves…like…”I want a better look at that and I can get it from out here.” Wonder what she’s looking at?
Hope she took off her shoes…shoes that probably matched her purse! HA! 😀
I won’t try to guess…too many places in the world where one can see the sea/ocean. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂
Don’t worry about where – you have enjoyed her story. Thanks very much, Carolyn
That is an interesting photo of the woman wading into the water. Derrick. She looks like she is going shopping, or looking for something. 🙂
Thanks very much, Lavinia. She certainly wasn’t leaving her handbag behind.
Nice storytelling picture.
Thanks a lot, Uma.
It’s a great picture, even though my guess of |South Coast has already been made and dismissed.
Not too far from our South coast. Thanks a lot, Quercus
Isle of Wight?
Nope
Channel Islands?
Another nope. Your comment was in Spam
I love this photograph of the woman wading in, black pocketbook and all!
Thanks very much, Liz
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Hi Derrick,
I think this may be Brittany…maybe St Malo or Geurand? Loving this series, by the way!
You got it, Jenny. Plage de Bréhec. Very well done
