I wandered around the garden late this afternoon, pointing the camera almost at random.
Here are the results. Don’t miss a couple of bees. The Puerto Rico dahlia provided a sympathetic sunburst. As usual, galleries will provide titles.
This evening we dined at The Wheel Inn at Bowling Green. We both enjoyed tempura prawns and fresh salad starters. My main meal was a superb rib eye steak, chips, mushroom, tomato and peas; Jackie’s was the Wheel Inn Burger, salad, and chips with which she drank Kaltenberg, while I drank Ringwood’s best. Neither of us had room for dessert.
Absolutely beautiful! Only hard work and love can create so much beauty!
Thank you very much, Robin
Love your gorgeous random shots, Derrick. I’m not surprised you didn’t have room for dessert. 😀
Thanks very much, Sylvia
Excellent display of random pointing!
Thanks very much, Pauline
That does sound filling! I like the picture of the bee nestled in all those little buds. It looks like it could take a nap there 🙂
Many thanks, Barbara
Flower power to you friend! Keep that camera snapping – lots of lovelies on willing display!
Thanks very much, Anna
Beautiful!
What absolutely stunning colours. Thank you sir.
Many thanks, Gary
Gorgeous bursts of color and bee-buzzin’ activity! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your random photographing! Your random is spectacular! 🙂
But with the Head Gardner’s loving hard work, I imagine anywhere you point is a great photo waiting to happen! 🙂
HUGS!!! and how nice for a night of dining out! 🙂
We both like your comments about the Head Gardener, Carolyn. Thanks very much for them all. X
You’re welcome very much. 🙂
Your random shots contained a remarkable number of well focused flowers.
I left the dodgy ones out 🙂 Many thanks, Tootlepedal
You are a lucky man to be able to wander such a beautiful garden whenever you want.
Very many thanks, Drew
Wow! These are stunning shots, Derrick. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much, Jill. Fancy a jigsaw of the Puerto Rico dahlia? 🙂
Definitely! 🙂
For pointing at random, your pictures sure come out good.
🙂 Thanks very much, Alien
Glorious, Derrick. Such wonderful random shots–love the bees.
Thanks very much, Merril
What do you call those flowers with the bee? I love you macro shot, the last photo 🙂
They are sedums, Arlene. Thanks very much.
Love the Puerto Rico dahlia 🙂
Your camera pointing was ALMOST random because the garden fairies were nudging your hands and whispering in your ear. That’s my theory, anyway, for these lovely photos.
The fairies were very persistent, JoAnna. Thanks very much.
How wonderful that you still have such colorful blooms! Our season has already begun to turn toward autumn and the flowers are going by, except for the goldenrod.
Thanks very much, Liz. Some of ours are over, of course, but others bloom well into autumn
🙂
Gosh! That is a hailstorm of flowers! The random mission has produced what the dahlia said with a sunburst.
“hailstorm of flowers” is great. Thanks very much, Uma
Your gardens are always a pleasure to see, Derrick and Jackie. I love that ending dahlia, too.
Thank you very much, Lavinia
Tremendous beauty all over fill hearts with love 😍😍, God bless!!
Very many thanks, Ritu
A spectacular set of photographs Sir!
Your quality of work is constantly improving it seems to me.
I was struck by the great contrast between your white Solanum and my mauve ones.
I think my favourite pic (besides the bees of course) may be the red dahlias and bud, simply beautiful. 🙂 The Puerto Rico dahlia also rates highly.
Thank you very much, Bob. We have both versions of solanum – blooming almost all year round
Mine are pretty much full bloom at present. They would be in the summer too if i gave them enough water, which can be scarce over here then. 😉
I’ve seen and felt Perth in the summer
Hopefully not when it was over 40 C?? 😉
It was indeed. We arrived at 2 a.m. on Christmas morning – 42 degrees even then
White Christmasses are a rarity here!! 😉
Except for bleached white I imagine. Sam’s mother in law’s roses were all burnt.
Exactly! If they are in flower at the time i have to take strong precautions with my blue rose – i have a large fabric sunblind i wrap around them.
Oh… now you went and did it. It’s been ages since I made anything tempura. I can’t believe how sweet vegetables come out that way!!
🙂 Thanks very much, GP
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks very much, Leslie
I’m so glad I got to the computer this morning to see all your captures. So beautiful Derrick 😎
Thank you very much, Val. I’m pleased, too
Stunning beauty every one of them!
Thank you very much, Anna
Such a beautiful gallery.
Thank you very much, Rupali
Beauty wherever you look! As someone else commented, the result of much hard work. But so worthwhile.
Many thanks, Laurie
Beautiful photos my friend. A daily visit to your garden starts me out with a smile.
I’m pleased. Thanks very much, Jerry
If that is what you call “almost at random” photography, then count me in for a photography lesson. Really beautiful flowers and photos. That garden must be even more beautiful.
Thanks very much, Zambian Lady.
Lovely Derrick!
Thanks a lot, Julie
I always enjoy your pictures.
Thanks very much, Laleh
My pleasure.
So lovely
How are you doing?
By the way do you know a good plants that can be inside that house? I want to get my mom one
I am planning my mom’s birthday gift early
She loves plants she doesn’t have allergies to plants except roses she is allergic to roses. but I’m not too knowledgeable on plants.
You could try a begonia – good, colourful, foliage and a variety of flowers as a bonus. Thanks very much, More
Oh thank you very much for your help.
And you’re quite welcome
That Puerto Rico Dahlia is a stunner Derrick, love it to bits, so enjoy looking at it. Colour perfect and all.
Very many thanks, Agnes
Having this much colour on all sides of you in the garden is a form of wealth. Your photos are stunning. The coleus stands out, doesn’t it. Those leaves are wonderful.
Thank very much, Crystal. Your comments are always appreciated
