Hanging its head, the garden wept early this morning;
to brighten later;
albeit with less than entirely dry cheeks. Bees basked on sunlit blooms;
as did butterflies like this Red Admiral on the lobelia.
Jackie’s planting
of phlox in the West Bed
brought her little robin, Nugget, out in search of goodies. “Where’s Nugget?” (6)
Here we lost internet connection, so I am sending this from The Royal Oak.
Oh, I do love your virtual garden tours!
I hope you are enjoying supper at the Royal Oak. I am still trying to decide what to have for mine!
Thanks very much, Sue
P.S. I found Nugget, he was well camouflaged today!
Well spotted, Sue
Excellent.
Thanks very much, Rabirius
I would say that your beautiful garden was weeping tears of joy. (I do believe I have espied little Nugget.)
Nice point, Liz. Thank you very much. Well spotted
The flowers are at their most beautiful when weeping.
Quite so, Susan. Many thanks
I’m glad the garden didn’t weep for too long. Nugget was easy for me to spy today – my eyes must be getting tuned into this game π Hope the internet is turned back on for you soon.
Thanks very much, Pauline. We are back on
Gosh, the garden looks so beautiful, Derrick. Nugget was a bright spot today!
Thank you very much, Jill
The most gorgeous garden
Stunning images, Derrick!
Thank you both
The garden is beautiful even in the rain! I see that beautiful little Nugget, too. π
Thank you very much, Lavinia
Really colourful.
Oh, these internet connections! $@%*&^%!!!
Indeed, Leslie. But I think your problems are far worse. Thanks very much.
Such beautiful photos and colours! π
Thanks very much, Nikki
Your “weeping” flowers are gorgeous! So bright, so vibrant with color! Yes, the “tears” dry, the faces look up to the sun and life is beautiful. π
I see Nugget! π
Good to see Jackie, Nugget, the bees, etc., back at work in the garden!
UGHS on the lost internet connect. π We can have that happen during storms here.
HUGS for the UGHS!!! π
Thanks very much, Carolyn. We should be receiving a new router today. X
Oh, glorious rain that gives life to the Earth!
Indeed. Thanks very much, Rosaliene
At least you had some sunshine to dry things out a bit.
Thank very much, Tootlepedal
Nugget seems to be enjoying the sunshine as much as I enjoyed the beautiful colours of your garden this morning, well done Derrick, even from the Royal Oak ….
Thank you very much, Ivor
Your photographs are absolutely lovely, Derrick! I love to see raindrops on flowers. I hope your internet connection has returned.
We are back on, Clare. Thanks very much
Derrick, how big is your garden?
1/3 of an acre. Thanks very much, Sheree
Thatβs pretty sizeable.
Nice post Derrick.
Thanks very much, Gary
Nugget is bang in the lower middle of the last image, perched on the penultimate stone ere the path turns to left. The weeping garden is a Keatsian beauty, although the title did scare me initially. I was relieved to find the Nugget Puzzle at the end.
Thank you very much, Uma. Sorry to have alarmed you
I’m loving the close-ups of your garden today…beautiful work. π Your poor poppies look so sad and burdened. I caught a similar one in my garden today but in full bright Winter sunshine. π
Not a close up of little Nugget, but i found him without needing to biggify your photo. π
Sorry to hear about the ‘drop-out’ but every cloud has it’s silver lining it seems? – I will guess what you settled for your evening repast.
Thanks a lot, Bob.I can’t remember what we ate now π
π I was going to guess sirloin steak with chips!
Quite possibly
I was especially delighted to see the Eryngium near the end of your post. We have two native species here in Texas, and the one that grows in my area, although less purple than the other, is one of my favorites. I keep thinking to feature it in a post somehow; now, having seen yours, I’m encouraged to do just that.
Thank you very much. I look forward to it, Linda
Utterly delightful! Hope your Internet connection returned soon.
Thanks very much, Laurie. Back on now
Beautiful flowers!
Thank you very much, Lisa
Rain or shine, the garden is beautiful. It is little wonder why Nugget has chosen it for his home.
Thanks very much, Jerry
I haven’t been able to read posts for several days and I am very pleased to hear Nugget is still around. What a love bug!
Thanks very much, Jodie. He certainly loves his bugs
A stunning garden. Every flower just as beautiful as the next.
Thank you very much, Drew
Nugget – getting in a bit of sunbathing π … hope your internetting has returned to full spate by now.
Thanks a lot, Widders. We are back on
Excellent. π
Oh my! These are so so beautiful! And little Nugget, I see him! He’s on the path π Too cute π
Thanks very much, Ribana. Well spotted
Heβs too cute π
Only 1/3 acre? Amazing what you have packed into that space!! It is magnificent ππ½β€οΈ
Thank you very much, Jan. That includes the house and the back drive X
You certainly have made the most of your garden space, Derrick! <3
The flower portraits at the top are sumptuous and dripping with colour. How magnificent those photos. Wow.
Thanks a lot, Crystal
