Yvonne, my experience of ‘Just Giving’ is that the amount is not pledged, it’s taken immediately from the donor account.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching him walk around his garden, he puts the rest of us to shame!
I saw him on our news a few days ago!
He made me smile and laugh! What a wonderful man! I bet he has stories to tell!
I wish him more years to live, love, and laugh!
I hope word gets back to him that people all over the world appreciate him and he has given us inspiration and hope during these darker days. 🙂
(((HUGS))) 🙂
Captain Tom will go down in history, I think – he exemplifies the spirit that will get us through this Corvid-19 crisis – a determination that something can be done and just never giving up.
I was alerted to Captain Tom by a friend and we donated. We may not live in the UK but the NHS is as dear to us as it ever was when we lived there. Captain Tom did something absolutely inspiring and has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many. If he is not knighted it really will be a travesty. After all, so many celebrities get honours for charity work which far easier to achieve. Arise Sir Tom for that is how we already think of you. 🗡
What an amazing spirit and achievement. And thank goodness the money appears to have a clearly designation destination, tapping into existing programmes.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story Derrick…..
He’s amazing, isn’t he? 😊
x
He makes me feel so slothful.
What an astounding amount of money he has raised; I hope it has all been paid by credit card or PayPal, not just pledged. Who will manage that money??
It has gone through Just Giving. One donor is the Duke of Cambridge. I trust it will be honourably managed. Thanks very much, Yvonne.

Thanks for clarifying that, Sue.
A great story, Derrick 🙂
It has kept us all enthralled, Barbara. Keeping Tom’s score certainly beat that of the death toll. Thanks very much

Thanks very much, Val. He was using a walking frame, having recently had a hip replacement.
Wow, he’s a great man!!! 🙏🏻😎🇬🇧
Indeed. Thank you very much, John
Yes, a great story. He does deserve a medal for what he has done – and, being realistic, they should give it to him now, while he can still enjoy it.
Certainly
Never mind a knighthood he should be declared a Saint. 23rd April – he could share it with George!
🙂 Nice one, Andrew. Thanks a lot.
