Today I felt somewhat soporific, so settled into E.M. Forster’s “A Passage to India”.
This evening we all dined on succulent roast lamb; crisp roast potatoes; crunchy carrots; firm cauliflower and broccoli, with which Ian drank Peroni, Jackie drank Oxford Landing Sauvignon Blanc 2023, and I drank Patrick Chodot Fleurie 2022.
Sometimes soporific is a nice, mellow way to be.
Thanks very much, Ed
Sounds like a day well spent.
Thanks very much, Pat
Those kind of days can be enjoyable, too. A well-earned rest, Derrick.
Thanks very much, Lavinia
I blame the clock change.
Could be, Tootlepedal. Thanks very much
We all have these dull days, they are meant to be lazy.
Thanks very much, Bridget
Funny enough … I seem to be rained in today
At last. Thanks very much, Ivor
I hope that is not commentary on Foster’s writing 🙂
Nope – just me knackered after the celebrations. Thanks very much, Gwen
I’ve heard chocolate can be a great stimulant.
I found A Passage to India to be an excellent book.
Thank you very much, Liz
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Sometimes it’s good to listen to our bodies and take it easy. Sounds like a nice relaxing day.
Thank you very much, JoAnna
I hope you feel unsoporific soon, but until then…rest! 🙂
I’m having some soporificness settle over me…so I am off for a rest.
Oh, you’re reading a fabulous book by such a fine fine fine author! I hope you will review it when you are done reading!

Thanks very much, Carolyn. I am wide awake this morning XX
Ha! 🙂 Oh, good…I’m sure you have stuff to get done today.
After the recent celebrating and Easter activities, etc., I’m a bit tired myself.
It’s good to rest and read a good book. This one I’ve read–though many years ago.
Thanks very much, Merril
A passage to India, what a classic!!
Indeed. Thanks very much, GP
Yes, a day well spent. That’s one I haven’t read.
Thank very much, Laurie
The Italians have a name for it…Dolce far niente. The sweetness of doing nothing and not feeling that you should. I hope you enjoyed your day.
Thanks very much, Lindsey
I’m pleased to read that you are feeling a little better today.
Thank you very much, Sue
I hope you are doing well today, Derrick. And all of your family is fine, too.
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes thanks, Carolyn XX

You deserve this day Derrick!
Thank you very much, Diane
A very enjoyable book for a soporific day.
Have you been inspired by Andrew Petcher’s posts?
Quite coincidental, Sheree. It happened to be next in my queue. Thanks very much.
Okay
Sometimes days like this are needed too 🙂
Yes, indeed. Thanks very much, Riba
