This was a cool day of intermittent bright sunshine and showers on which there must have been a rainbow somewhere.
I didn’t go out to investigate, but Jackie took all except the first of her
blossom pictures from the bedroom window, including one from the front garden featuring the tall Amanogawa cherry.
Obviously my aim at an average of 50 pages of “Kristin Lavransdatter” has gone out of the window lately, however I did manage 59 today.
This evening we all dined on another of Jackie’s wholesome cottage pie meals. My slightly larger portion was taken in the same manner as yesterday.
Glad to hear that it seems like you are on the mend. Gorgeous photos.
Thank you very much, Pat
I especially like Jackie’s header photo. I hope you’re feeling better soon, Derrick.
Many thanks, Merril
I am glad you are feeling better and can enjoy reading again.
Thanks very much, Bridget
‘Gone out the window” from which these lovely photos have been taken, eh?
I hope you are feeling better, Derrick.
Well spotted, Dolly. Thank you very much.
Very pretty; and didn’t you do well!
My lunch was special today – we had a quite delicious salmon croute with a mixed salad , followed by posset and fresh fruit. Our long-standing (71 years!) friends: mother and daughters are the best cooks!
Thank you very much, Joy
You sound like you are feeling better. Lovely flowering trees/shrubs!

Looking at the blossom through the window is a pleasant and relaxing way to recuperate Derrick.
Thank you very much, Ivor
The crabapple closeup is delightful! “There must have been a rainbow somewhere” shows a sense of hope and imagination. I hope you feel all better soon.
Thank you very much, JoAnna
Beautiful pictures full of Nature’s bounty. I like the phrase ‘boredom window’. Hope you are doing well Derrick.
Thanks very much, Geeta
Cheerful blossoms. Hope you are doing good.
Thanks very much, Geeta
Derrick, I’m just catching up. I’m sorry to hear about the cold, but I remain hopeful it will pass in time for your cataract surgery. I took my friend Mary for the same surgery last month. It’s extraordinary how quickly the eye heals and how well you can see once you heal. Fingers crossed. Your garden looks lovely. I’m glad Jackie continues to provide delicious meals and that you can share in photographic duties. I’m sending healing vibes across the sea.
Thank you so much, Alys
Lovely blooms, Derrick. They look like the blossoms on the Bradford Pear that we used to have.
Thank you very much, Zakiah
So pretty.
Beautiful photos. I hope you are able to feel well enough to go outside soon.
