Find Two More Bees

Early this morning, after visiting Ferndene Farm Shop to buy three bags of compost and various foodstuffs we took a forest drive on which we found nothing to photograph, so when we returned home Jackie gardened while I practised pole walking down Downton Lane then turned my camera on the garden.

While crab apples and a normal cherry have come into bloom, the

Amanogawa has now scaled the house,

and is a magnet for the bees, one of which features in the header picture providing a clue for two more to be found.

We still have many daffodils, while Dr Ruppel is catching them up;

Peering down from its arbour above the wisteria views the clematis.

Visible through the red Japanese maple Jackie mowed the lawn, while

the iron urn that she planted up again after having cleared it of ants has picked up.

She has also tidied Flo’s Fairy Garden.

I read much more of ‘Britannia’ this afternoon.

This evening we reprised last night’s pasta Bolognese meal with the same wine.

  1. I can’t wait for spring blooms to arrive here! Also, I have to think about all sorts of trees that would bloom in my garden 🙂

  2. Gorgeous flowers! Busy buzzy bees! All shouting “Spring!” 🙂
Yay for Dr. Ruppel! Lookin’ great! Oh! as is Flo’s Fairy Garden! 🙂
Jackie, your hard work and tender loving care in the garden is beautiful and evident! 🙂
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️ for both of you!!
PS… How is the Grandfamily doing? I think of them and send well-wishes and prayers. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thank you very much from each of us Carolyn. Grandfamily enjoying life – Ellie will have a little brother in June. XX

  3. The flowers are so beautiful. I don’t know what habut I can now go to the Post new page. I hope to post my Slice of Life today. Thank you Derrick for all the beautiful photos.

  4. I had to read the first paragraph a few times. I was sure I read “practised pole dancing’ down Downton Lane. LOL! The flowers are beautiful. Spring has certainly arrived there. Here, we’re just entered Autumn; not that one would think so by the trees. They are very slow changing colour and losing their leaves.

  5. I see so many of your paths and the lovely flowers in your garden that I forget you have a lawn to be mowed! Loved the pole dancing too!

    1. You have probably realised that “lawn” is a somewhat grand term. Thank you so much, Anne

  6. Wow, your wisteria is blossoming already! I am happy to report that I have not killed mine, and just yesterday discovered the tiniest of green nubs pressing out from the fat trunks I left beside the little office. This makes me eagerly anticipate it’s future shape and beauty! 🙂 I did find all three bees, and just looking at your photos made it seem like I could feel the warmth of the day and the smells and the buzzing. Thank you for bringing us there.
