Jackie has replaced the geranium snapped by yesterday’s fierce winds with one she made earlier, and has placed the broken stem in water hoping it will make more root; she has planted the damaged root in another pot. With any luck she will get two for the price of one.
I spent much of the day reading more of ‘Britannia’ and undertaking a little culling, which involved removing all the pictures from iPhoto that feature in
This evening we dined on cod and parsley soft-centred fish cakes; creamy mashed potato; peas, sweet corn, and carrots, with which I drank more of the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Geraniums are very hardy.
They are. Thanks very much, GP
Two for the price of one would be a great outcome.
Thank you so much, Merril
Wishing health and new growth to the snapped geranium!
Thank you so much, Donna
Mm, Cod!!
The winds were very fierce!
They were. Thank you very much, Kim
April is unpredictable. The geranium looks lonely but healthy.
Thank you very much, Bridget. The rest of the display will gather round it.
Geraniums are very hardy and I’m sure her regeneration attempts will be successful, Derrick
They will, Ivor. Thank you very much
I hope that the two for the price of one works out. That sort of thing is always very satisfying.
It will. Thanks very much, Tootlepedal
I hope Jacqui’s two-for-one trick will work. Two geraniums are always better than just one.
Thanks very much, Liz. She has quite a few.
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Geraniums are a hardy bunch. I suspect Jackie’s efforts will pay off.
Thank you very much, Alys. I trust you are more nimble now
Yes. I’m much improved, thank you. My left hip replacement is scheduled for early November. By year’s end I’ll be in much better shape.
Good luck with the geraniums! If anyone can get them to grow roots, it’s you and Jackie. Whether plants grow roots in water seems random to me, except for spider plants that grow roots just about anywhere.
Jackie has quite a lot she has made earlier. Thanks very much, JoAnna
I love it when it works out like this
Thank you very much, Gary
With Jackie’s care, ’tis no wonder you have so many flowers blooming in your garden
Thank you very much, Anne
Jackie, you are amazing! I would never have thought about popping the stalk into water.
Thank you very much from each of us, Sue XX
Wonderful geranium photos… and transformation!
Thank you very much, Nicole
So beautiful! So wonderful!

(((HUGS)))
Thank you so much, Carolyn XX
I hope two beautiful geraniums come out of that unfortunate windstorm breakage.
Thank you very much, Lavinia
We are having fierce winds ourselves.
Thank you very much, Andy
You’re welcome.
If it’s anything like my geranium, she’ll soon have a dozen.
Indeed. Thanks very much, Lindsey
A true rendering of the maxim – ‘T’is an ill wind that blows no (geranium) any good’.
Nice one, Widders. Thanks v very much,
That should work for her. I have put broken geranium stems right into the dirt and kept it watered and had success with it.
Thank you very much, Dwight
Fingers crossed for Jackie.
Thank you very much, Laurie
Oh my, geraniums sure are hearty flowers, aren’t they?
They are. Thank you very much, Jan
That’s a great idea. Must give that a go with my own geraniums.
It usually works, Sheree. Thank you very much
I’ll let you know
Two for the price of one is a good deal. I hope it works for Jackie.
Thanks very much, Dolly
