Wild Animals

Thousands of pictures of New Forest ponies feature in my posts. Although they are owned by commoners with pasturing rights they are all wild animals and roam free throughout the year.

Here is a random selection for Denzil’s Nature challenge. Each image bears a title in the gallery.

The same applies to donkeys.

Deer are just wild, but more elusive,

as are squirrels.

These cane toads were pictured from our hotel window in Barbados in 2004,

as were these green monkeys.

  1. Wowza! These are all so fabulous, Derrick! If I started listing favorites, I’d have to list each photo! 🙂
Thank you for sharing them today!
The equine ones are SO beautiful they bring joy-tears to my eyes!
    (((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  2. The flower drew me in. A gorgeous closeup.. But the horses kept me here. Is the one a sculpture or a tree that has a detail that looks like a horse? Love the first horse shot plus the eye, the mother and cold crossing the road, the horse drinking and the one “grazing” on the tree.. But such a fun variety. I’ve never seen a horse sitting quite like that!!

  3. That is an impressive collection of both wild and domestic animals, Derrick. It is hard to pick a favorite, but those cane toads have a rather regal look about them.

  4. Stunning selection, Derrick! A few I picked out–the pony kissing its shadow, the pony breath, the donkey and foal, the donkeys queuing for food, the stag, and . . . 🙂
