Late this morning Jackie drove me to my appointment with Chiropractic Eloise Moody, who showed me the x-rays of my neck and explained their story with the aid of a model. The upshot is that she is able to halt the process, and ease the pain, but not reverse it, which is pretty much what I had hoped for. We began a course of treatment which will continue on Monday.
Afterwards I took a walk through the park opposite. Squelching through sward, still soggy from another night of rain ceased this sunny day
I photographed graffiti across the green, including passers by, a man seated on the brick wall beneath the artwork, and a standing mobile phone user.
The dog of the man in the second picture frolicked with two friends, one of which attempted to snot my trouser leg.
Two friends asked me to photograph them.
I was able to walk from the art-wall through a private car park to Station Road and thence to the public one where my Chauffeuse awaited.
This evening we all dined on slow-roasted rolled breast of lamb; crisp Yorkshire pudding; boiled new potatoes; crunchy carrots; firm Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cauliflower, meaty gravy, mint sauce, and redcurrant jelly, with which Jackie drank more of the white Zinfandel and I drank more of the Garnacha.
Hope the chiropractor helps.
I hope so, too.
Thanks, Liz as well
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Thanks very much, Pat
You seem to make friends wherever you go, Derrick!
I hope the chiropractor’s treatment eases your pain.
Thank you very much, Merril
I like the one with the little dog and his toy.
You write poetic prose. Lovely to read. Gorgeous pictures too.
Thank you very much, Pat
You did a great job capturing the street scene as I call it, the graffiti looks nice, actually. I’m glad that the sun has popped out for a change, but you can’t possibly be in a drought! I’m glad the dog didn’t snot your pants (trousers), dog slobber is gross! Dinner sounds delicious again, guys. I am guessing that you have bones in the neck that want to fuse together. I feel your pain as I have three herniated lower lumbar. Happy weekend! ????????????
Thanks very much, John. Yes, fusion is part of It
I really like this type of graffiti, and you captured it well. Interesting to see the progress of life with the various pedestrians, pets, and friends out for a breath.
I am hoping your treatment for your neck goes well, Derrick.
Thank you very much, Ed
Here in Geelong, our good run of warm summer days has come to an end, and it looks like the rain has set in for the day … I hope your treatment program has the desired results Derrick
Thanks very much, Ivor
It’s still raining here
Here, too
Wow … that makes for a lot of soggy doggies
I’m glad you finally managed to have the neck problem fully explained. Hopefully, pain relief may follow, that’s all we hope for isn’t it?
It is, Sue. Thanks very much
Here’s hoping that the new treatment will bring relief.
Thanks very much, Rosaliene
What do you mean ‘snot my trouser leg’?
Rubbed a wet nose on my trousers. Thanks very much, Steve
Of course, my mistake. I read it as one of the two men did that. But you meant the dog. That would be awful if it was as I had read it????
My paternal grandfather was walking by an open-topped bus at the beginning of the 20th century. A man gobbed over the top. The mucus stuck on Grandpa’s sleeve. He jumped onto the bus and up the stairs and made the perpetrator clean it off.
Oh, yuk! Good for him. Moral, stay away from open top busses????
Wish you for the best on your treatment.
Thank you very much, Byung
The graffiti looks well planned and quite artistic. I wonder if the city organized the artists. So glad there’s hope for easing your pain. I believe in holistic treatments like chiropractic and acupuncture if one can afford them.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the purply pink octopus is my favorite of the graffiti.
It is very well executed
Thank you very much JoAnna. I imagine it was an approved, or even commissioned, project.
Here’s hoping for a more positive outcome of your treatment Derrick.
Thanks very much, Arlene
Being able to halt further deterioration and ameliorate pain sounds like a winner to me, Derrick. Your mention of your little stroll from the art wall to the car sounded good, too. I smiled at the mint jelly. I’ve never had lamb (except as gyros) but I’ve often read about the mint being a standard accompaniment to the meat.
Take care of that neck, Derick. It’s the only one you have.
Thanks very much, Chrissy
Someone has to say it: I am sure you have not been a pain in the neck to others about the pain in your neck! Chiropractors are underrated – I have flourished under their treatment one way and another over the years. I trust you will too!
Thank you very much, Anne. I suppose someone did.
Make sure that you do your physio. There’s bound to be some!!
Thanks a lot, John
Hope the treatments work! YAY! Take good care of your neck…it’s a great support to your amazing brain/head and beautiful hair! 😉
I’ve always enjoyed street art, murals, even graffiti…especially when it’s done artistically.
Love the doggie photo…nice to see two smiling friends…wonderful reflection photo!
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Carolyn XX
Hi Derrick, I’m sorry to hear about your neck pain, I hope it clears up quickly. The art wall is great!
Thank you very much, Robbie
I think chiropractors are terrific, hope yours helps your neck.
Thanks very much, GP
Intriguing art work. Hope you are feeling better.
Thanks very much, Andy.
You’re welcome.
Good news that the chiro can do something to ease the problems in your neck, Derrick. I love the photo of the two friends!
Thanks very much, Sandra
Intriguing graffiti and I love the pink octopus. I hope your treatments help ease the pain and your prose is eloquent, as usual.
Thank you very much, Eugi
You’re welcome, Derrick.
I am glad you are getting some good chiropractic care, Derrick. It can help quite a bit.
The dog going after your pant leg reminded me of those Gloucester Old Spots attempting to do the same. 🙂
🙂 So true, Lavinia. Thanks very much
I hope the lamb didn’t come from that Christmas decoration! I am so glad that she can halt the process. That would be very helpful.
Thanks very much, Elizabeth
All the best with the treatment.
Thanks very much, Sylvie
Impressive graffiti
Thanks very much, Sheree
Keeping my fingers crossed with the chiropractor.
Thanks very much, Mimi
I’m glad that she can at least ease your pain!
Thank you so much, Riba
