I was nominated by my friend Judy Dykstra-Brown to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. Now I nominate Crystal Trulove . Please link to me so I know you have participated. If you are not interested, no problem. Nowhere in the rules does it say you can’t guess where the photo was taken and that I can’t agree if you are right. Derrick
A charming jumble.
The sole surviving print (no negative) from March ’63 – my first ever colour film on my grandfather’s Box Brownie. Thanks very much, Laurie
Wow! Impressive.
I thought I’d lost it 🙂
Good that you can digitize it!
Who would have thought that possible in 1963?
The stuff of science fiction!
That looks a golden oldie but I’ve no idea where it is.
March ’63 – colour print produced with Grandfather’s Box Brownie – first ever in colour. Thanks very much, Sheree
😎
A box Brownie, dad had one of those!
Norfolk
Further south west. Thanks a lot, Sue
I have no idea where you were.
It looks like scene from a movie from the 1950’s or 60’s. I like it’s ambiance! 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂
March ’63. My first ever colour film in a Box Brownie. Thanks very much, Carolyn.
Oh, my gosh! This is so cool! Do you still have the camera? 🙂
No. Camera long gone. It was given to me by my grandfather when I was 15.
Oh, what a wonderful gift, and now memory!
Curious about the place Derrick!
Almost the south western most tip of England
I think I went there for my birthday two years ago! 🙂 Lovely image, Derrick!
55 years after I took the picture, Dina
Good on you to keep them. So well preserved, Derrick.
I’m not sure I’d be able to walk barefoot on that beach. Nice photo!
I probably didn’t. Thanks very much, Jill
I remember the Brownie’s. I found one in our attic as a kid and made it my first camera.
Where is your picture from?
I’ll hold fire on that for a bit, but I have been prompted to reveal all at the end. That Brownie was my first.
That’s a fun idea! Lovely photo, too.
Thank you very much, Anna. Shall I nominate you?
Well, considering I just ran out of space on my blog, it might take me a while to take you up on it if you do. But I do like the idea, though. 🙂
That’s good enough for me, Anna. I will do so. I’m sure there’s no time limit on starting.
Intresting houses.
Wonderfully historic, Mrs W. Thanks very much.
Thanks.
Cornwall, St Ives.
Correct – traveller of the world.
I guessed right–some place in England! 😉 I love the jutting bits of the houses in the foreground.
🙂
I was going to guess sometime in the 1960s, and seems that is correct. 🙂 A beautiful little seaside town, Derrick!
Thanks very much, Lavinia. I forget what could be done with a Box Brownie
Interesting photo, but I wouldn’t venture a guess. Are the answers forthcoming at the end?
I think they should be, Dolly. I will supply them with any necessary stories. Many thanks.
I am looking forward to mysteries revealed. You are very welcome, Derrick.
🙂
You have certainly visited a variety of interesting places over the years, Derrick!
And I’m not a traveller, Anne, so I have needed all those years. 🙂 Thanks very much
Looks like Mousehole, with the old Lobster Pot restaurant jutting out over the harbour.
x
I thought St Ives as does Andrew Petcher, but I didn’t keep notes in those days. Thanks a lot, Melanie X
Definitely Mousehole 😊
Your photo is taken from the same perspective as the one used here..

A quirky little village to explore, where sadly, the famous Christmas lights have this year been cancelled.

Thanks very much, Melanie. You have proved your point X
Many thanks.
(Hope you didn’t mind me correcting you?)

Not at all. I like my friends putting me right 🙂
Thank you kindly.

Is there any statistic that refers to the amount of massive sea walls like that. Because I don’t imagine it is unique on the West coast?
Here’s just one google entry: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Seawalls_in_England
Thanks a lot. Paol
Thank you. So they aren’t all on the West coast!
No. So it seems
Interesting photo.
Thanks very much, Rupali
I would live to live there 😉 What a view!
A wonderful old fishing village
