A combination of my own slumbering stupor and a hot, humid, largely overcast, day presaging the predicted thunderstorm caused me to doze the day away.

Jackie, however, prepared Mum’s perching stool, and bolstered one of the wooden chairs, so that, first from the perch, and then from the chair, I would have an opportunity of focussing, to some extent, on that little corner.

My choice of the selection of supermarket ready meals Jackie has kept in stock for these crucial days, was tasty cannelloni. This was followed by vanilla ice cream.

  1. That was a lovely little spot to leave you perched safely in – though I suppose no matter where you are perched in this garden would be the perfect spot! Well done!

  2. Nice view you have to recover, Derrick. Did you not watch the rugby match today? My Derek watched it as he was born in Exeter…obviously he wasn’t pleased with the outcome. Take care of yourself!

  3. Until you’ve tasted MY cannelloni you haven’t tasted; tasty cannelloni! …..Says he modestly exiting stage left ( I’m a socialist; you’d hardly expect me to exit stage right , would you?)

  4. That is a sparkling portrait of yours. I presume it’s a handiwork of Jackie, other than setting your perches. The photographs taken by you have the mark of your super steady hands. Welcome back to your paradise!

  5. Couldn’t think of a better place to relax and laze the day away Derrick.
Your garden is therapy for the mind and satisfying To the Soul.

  6. You look happy and relaxed, Derrick and the garden is looking good. Take care, Mx

  7. I remember the pain meds making me dozy, it’s always a delicate balance between resting and being active enough when recovering. Being outdoors does wonders regardless. Bless Jackie, I know it’s a lot of work caregiving too. The garden looks well, and so do you. ☺

  8. Ah, a bit of fresh air in that beautiful garden has healing powers for sure. You look well, Derrick, not like you’ve just undergone such an operation. I suspect your lovely wife and your disposition have a part in that. : )
