Aaron, of AP Maintenance, was assisted by his nephew, Rory, in assembling and installing a wooden garden arch. First the instructions had to be deciphered. All the components were checked off; they were fitted securely into place; the heavy structure was then carried across the garden and placed across the Head Gardener’s Walk.
This afternoon Jackie drove Elizabeth and me to the Minstead Antiques Fair. Here are images of a few sample stalls.
This evening we dined on Jackie’s classic cottage pie, carrots, cabbage and runner beans, with which she drank more of the Cirio and Elizabeth and I drank 16 Little Black Pigs Shiraz Cabernet 2016.
There’s my workman Aaron. You keep him so busy, he’ll never have the time to get over here to me!! 🙂 He sure does good work and now his nephew is learning – terrific.
I can get lost going through antiques, Derrick, and your country has a long history. I always want to buy everything!! especially the furniture.

That is a shapely gate Aaron has assembled and installed. I suspect we may be the last of the generations to be interested in antiquities. The X, Y and Z generations are more interested in electronic curios. The way they are sending everything to the ‘Cloud’ these days, I suspect Gods have a serious competition up there.

Love an arch (as previously discussed) …. I also love and Antiques fair …. such fun to be had foraging and gazing and fending off the stall-holders if one shows any interest ?
The fending off the stallholders is definitely a perceptive observation.
Mentoring is such a great way to learn – how fortunate for Rory. It’s a beautiful arch!

Thought the 16 little black pigs cabernet sauvignon 2017 had an Australian sound to it; never heard or seen the stuff, comes from McLaren Vale in South Aus so it should be a good drop.
