After lunch, before I settled down to watch the ITV transmission of the France v Italy Six Nations rugby match, Jackie cut my hair.
When the game had finished I stepped outside to chase a dying sunset down the back drive
and into the Royal Oak car park.
In between times, following SueW’s guidance, I recovered the pictures for the following posts:
also included the header picture for
and reactivated its link to the history.com site: https://www.history.com/news/mountbatten-assassination-ira-thatcher
This evening we all dined on Jackie’s pasta Bolognese with piquant cauliflower cheese on the side. She drank more of the Grüner Veltliner and I finished the Shiraz.
I have been cutting my husband’s hair for 54 years – we will have been married for fifty years later this year. I often remind him how much he has saved as a result 🙂
Thanks very much, Anne. Jackie cut mine in the 60s when we were first married. We waited 50 years for her to take it up again.
Gorgeous sunset! One can never have too many of those.
I agree, Sheree–and no two sunsets are exactly alike.
Absolutely Liz
At first glance, the second sunset photo looked like a mountain view, until I looked more closely.
Thanks very much, Liz
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Stunning sunset photos.
Thanks very much, Dolly
You are very welcome, Derrick.
More recovered images, great job! There is a city in my Michigan home state called Royal Oak. Gee, are we the same people or what? 🇬🇧🇺🇸❤️
We have so many pubs of that name. The king in the tree is part of our shared heritage
There are times that I wish I were British…
YAY for a haircut! YAY for that spectacular sunset! YAY for your continued hard work! 🙂
For quite a few years now I have been cutting my hubby’s hair…sometimes needs a bit shaving on the neck, too. 😉 Once in awhile, he tosses me a $20.00 bill. ‘Tis a joke between us. 😀
(((HUGS))) 🙂 ❤️❤️ 🙂
An excellent joke, Carolyn Thanks a lot X
A lovely sunset with perhaps a promise of nice weather to come.
Thank you so much, John
I saved the “sunset over the carpark” into my Derrick collection’
A good choice, Ivor. Cheers
You had a pleasant mixture of a day, just how our days should be.
I managed to capture a bright red sunset and an opportunistic shot of the tail end of a plane on take off.
Many thanks, Sue
The sunset was a lovely capture, Derrick! Best to you and Jackie.
And to you both, Lavinia. Thanks very much. The sunset was something new for my loyal followers 🙂
I cut my Derek’s hair too! He always says it’s “high and tight” so I guess I’m doing a good job. 😉Lovely photos today, Derrick.
Much appreciated, Jill. Derek must be doing well
Okay. Great sunset. How is the hair.
What about the Calcutta Cup?
Just saying … on behalf of my family and countrymen in celebration.
Hair OK. Full marks to the Scots. A great contest
Much to take in, from haircuts to the troubles, to the queen’s procession. And, of course, a darling baby. Quite a range.
Thank you so much, Laurie. I like to keep variety
This silhouette shots are simply beautiful😊
Thank you very much, Arlene
That should read “these” Derrick. Sorry!
🙂
I’m also cutting my husband’s hair! The sunsets are so beautiful!
Thanks very much, Aletta 🙂
I laughed at the image in my mind of you literally chasing the sunset, but the photos are beautiful. 🙂
Thanks very much, Merril. That would certainly be a funny sight
😂
I wish that the Italians had won. It is about time that they got a break.
They could well have done. Thanks a lot, Tootlepedal
I think my husband was overjoyed when he was able to go to get his haircut after covid restrictions were lifted. I tried my best with a tool set and YouTube videos, but I definitely did not miss my calling as a beautician!
🙂 Thank you very much, Elizabeth
I’m still cutting sons hair with the dog clippers….
Thanks very much, Gary
That sunset is stunning!
Thank you very much, Ribana
