One For Las Vegas John

After another helpful Chiropractic session with Eloise at New Milton I met Jackie at The Quench for lunch.

Once again the Assistant Photographer used her camera to add further details to https://derrickjknight.com/2023/12/20/quirky-cruets/

Displays not pictured last time include a collection of coronation mugs and a tribute to Jonathan Livingston Seagull ;

and another set of quirky cruets.

This dog, quietly reflecting on the shiny floor, was allowed in because its humans were well behaved.

My blogging friend, John, having studied the menu published in the post mentioned above, had expressed his pleasure at seeing

American pancakes listed. Naturally I therefore chose and enjoyed them while Jackie was equally pleased with her cheese and onion toastie. The pancakes were served with maple sauce and rashers of bacon, which I found a delightfully intriguing mix.

This afternoon I made more progress with “The Charterhouse of Parma”.

Later, we all dined on further helpings of Jackie’s wholesome cottage pie, boiled potatoes, crunchy carrots, firm Brussels sprouts and broccoli, with which she drank Peroni, and I drank more of the Cabernet Sauvignon.

  1. Aw, what a handsome well-behave doggie! šŸ™‚
The food at The Quench looks so yummy! And such a great name! I’m sure when diners depart they are quench-ed and happy! HA!

  2. I had to look up the difference between American and British pancakes. I’d eat either. But definitely maple syrup on the American ones. šŸ™‚

I like all the quirky cruets and that sweet dog.

  3. I love the cruets. We had a dog like that one, but brown, called Moss. I always thought he ought to have been green with that name, but Mum thought otherwise.

  4. Mm, pancakes and bacon are so delicious together! Thank you for mentioning me, Derrick. I would love to have breakfast at this restaurant. ????ā¤ļø????????

  5. Iā€™m at odds with everyone else. The thought of pouring a sickly sweet sauce over bacon fills me with horror. I donā€™t eat pancakes either!
Iā€™ll take savoury over sweet any day.

Iā€™d love to visit the Quench most of the food sounds delicious.

    1. I am as savoury as you, Sue. What surprised me was that the sauce was not too sweet at all. It sat very well on the pancakes – but not on the bacon. Thanks very much.

  6. What a delicious meal, I could eat that for any meal! That is such a unique ship and what a surprise when I realized it to be a salt and pepper shaker, love it! The dog just fits right it, so content.

  7. You and Jackie have chosen a good place to meet after a visit to the chiro. Perhaps by now you can look around at your surroundings without having to move your shoulders šŸ™‚

  8. Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup sound delicious. I also like Jackie’s cheese and onion toastie meal. The dog looks very content.
