Wiped Out

After a second agonisingly painful night with my neck I endured an additional arduous, firmly yet tenderly applied, chiropractic session with Eloise this morning.

This pretty well wiped me out for the day spent alternately dozing and reminiscing with Becky and Jackie until late in the afternoon when I began to resurface before Ian returned from Southbourne and joined us for dinner, which consisted of The Culinary Queen’s penne Bolognese and mange touts. I turned mine into pasta arrabbiata with a plentiful dash of Scotch Bonnet Sauce. Jackie and Ian drank Hoegaarden and I finished the Cabernet Sauvignon.

  1. Oh, gosh! (sad-sad face) I’m so sorry to hear this, Derrick! Chronic pain can be so wearying.
Hopes and prayers that you can rest, heal, and be pain-free soon.
    Gentle (((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  2. Sorry to hear this Derrick. Having just spent another day exhibiting patience in my recovery, I know just how frustrating the wait for recovery is. Stick in there – it will be spring soon and that’s always good for this sort of thing.

  3. I do hope that your neck is sorted soon. I have had a lot of hip pain and difficulty walking in the last few months but finally my osteopath has removed most of the pain.

  4. The Squire can empathise with you regarding a painful neck and back. No easy solution. Pleased food and guests are distracting you in a nice way.

  5. Well done on feeling strong enough to join the dinner! I join the rest of your readers in wishing you well under the healing hands of Eloise.

  6. Gad! Best wishes for relief from your literal pain in the neck, Derrick! Dinner sounded very tasty to me. Pasta always is good, but the addition of snow peas (mange touts) is one that can’t be beat!

  7. It is good that the chiropractic session helped with the pain, it is a good feeling to be able to “resurface” as you say, pain free after such moments, and resume our day to day routine normally. Wishing you well, Derrick!

  8. ongoing pain is not pleasant, I hope that your treatments soon bring about a more permanent solution. Do you have Trager partitioners where you live?

  9. So sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I too thought you were on the mend. Please take care of yourself and continue to get the help you need. I can empathize with how Jackie must be feeling. When Kevin was suffering with chronic pain it was very difficult to watch. Thinking of you both and sending healing vibes across the sea. Love Carol
