Sun, Sea, Spray

Late this morning we received our Flu and Covid vaccinations at our GP surgery and returned home along the coast road.

Figures were silhouetted against the bright, cloudy, sky, while

turbulent seas piled pebbles up the promenade, smashing spray against glistening rocks

and dripping breakwaters.

Pinpoints of light stippled swirling seas.

I have long wondered what produces the similar patch of twinkling illumination sometimes seen on the cliffs of the Isle of Wight.

Today I discerned nothing more romantic than sunlight bouncing from stationary cars.

Jackie capped my photograph of the Isle of Wight and The Needles with her image of a yacht passing the shipping hazard and approaching the bloodshot eye of the lighthouse.

This evening we reprised yesterday’s peri-peri chicken meal, with which I drank the last of the Haut-Médoc.

  1. Sensational snaps of sea, sun, spray! 🙂
    Perfectly poetically picturesque play-by-play! 🙂
Always enjoy your photos AND your words! 🙂
I especially love the B&W photos…so much emotion, so much detail, in them. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️and Happy Whee-kend!!

  2. I love the silhouette and the sea spray/water in motion. Stunning photos, and I like your imagery in “approaching the bloodshot eye of the lighthouse.”
I hope you have no reactions to the vaccinations. We were going to get ours till I got “ticked off.” :).

  3. I prefer your photographs of the sea rather than the fashion some use of slow shutter speeds that make moving water look smooth. It gives more feeling of active movement.
Red eyed light hose – good one. 😉

  4. You have some stunning photos here, Derrick.
I choose to have my vaccinations separately; although I’m right-handed, I avoid vaccinations in my left arm. I had my flu vaccination last week, and my Covid one is booked for next Saturday. The next one after that will be the new vaccination (not yet booked). I believe it mustn’t be too near the first two.

  5. As usual, beautiful photography and scintillating prose: “stippled swirling seas” – – – ah yes, Derrick, you and Jackie are on a roll!!
