We drove to Everton Post Office to post the card. On the way we noticed that on Fry’s Lane
hedgerow fairies have been at work. Naturally I made a selection of their efforts.
We drove on to Otter Nursery where Jackie was delighted to find 50 trailing lobelias, for which she has been searching for the last week.
Given that WordPress have now reintroduced their advanced editor and I am trying to get my head round it, I have published a link to my earlier post (I wonder if anyone can guess which photograph I used for the card), rather than reproducing the photograph which would give the game away should my daughter read this; and have reverted to the gallery method which I eschewed for so long because they insisted on cropping pictures to fit. Only one of these images has been cropped and it doesn’t matter. That is because all except one picture is presented in landscape format without my having cropped them to taste. Clicking on any one image will access the gallery which can then be viewed in the preferred size.
So far my major disappointment is that I can’t find how to change the font to my favourite Georgia.
This evening we dined on Jackie’s spicy pasta arrabbiata with which she drank Hoegaarden and I drank more of the Carmenere.
WordPress should delete that block editor, we do have the option to Opt-Out of it though. The Legacy editor is far better.

It’s easy enough to change, but the bad news is Georgia isn’t On the list of alternates.
Scroll down the menu when you go to write a post. Click dashboard, then design, then customise, then fonts. You can try them for both heading and the post and it will show you what it looks like on your latest post. Hope this helps.

Just got a notice from WordPress about how come June 1, everyone will be using the new editor. There are some computer problems even Clif can’t fix.
I struggled with the new editor too today. It doesn’t suit me yet and offers too much temptation to fiddle about with stuff needlessly.

What a surprise to find these on your walk. Because I like the main focus of a photo to be off centre, I think the 3 coloured bird (4th from bottom) is the one you chose for the card.
New Advanced Editor mmmm…. At least I won’t think it’s the new computer Norm bought yesterday. My Surface-Pro up and died yesterday. It’s still under warranty but with Norm returning to work on Monday taking his laptop with him, I would be out anything to even check emails.
What is a “spicy pasta arrabbiata”?
Actually the photo for the card was one from the linked post. Good for Norm. I added spicy to the dish to indicate that it contains more chillis than usual. It is an Italian dish made with beef mince in a tomato based sauce. The fairies are delightful, and I’m so glad you captured a few for us. I read that email from WP about the change in editors and groaned. I didn’t delete the email, but I tucked it away. I guess I’m going to have to pay attention. I do feel they might allow the legacy editor to remain, just to avoid having to avoid the torches and pitchfork crowds that descended on them the last time they tried to impose a significant change. We’ll see.
They do give you the option to retain the original, but I wonder for how long. One problem we have discovered is that they have revamped every one of my earlier posts, often shoving words or letters beside pictures, rendering the text unreadable.
Uh, oh. I’d better go look. Thanks for that heads-up, and for the explanation of why that may have happened to a couple of my posts in the past.
I just bought lobelias for the first time in 19 years today! Great minds….I had hanging baskets of them in California.. don’t know why I haven’t bought them here.

The pictures are still appearing in gallery mode. They are arranged in tiles of two running down a column except the last one. I am not writing much these days, but I do hope when I return I’ll be able to wrap my head around the editor.

I love the fairies, But I am NEVER happy when WP changes formatting. We all know that you have to give new young art students some type of encouragement, but please leave things alone for the old ones, not all old ones, Derrick, but those of us who are happy as things are.
