The pictures posted on https://derrickjknight.com/2023/05/23/village-life/ taken by Flo of her grandmother and Ellie reminded Becky of this one she had herself produced of Jackie and Flo in her own grandmother’s garden in 1997.
She e-mailed it to me last night. Here is the generational repeat. Only the babies’ hair colouring is different.
This morning we shopped at Tesco where, in a combination of the forthcoming bank holiday and school half term there were more than usual customers and less than normal products on the shelves.
There are two volumes to the edition of Dostoevsky’s “A Raw Youth” that I am currently reading. Today I almost finished the first one. I will feature the book when I have reached the end.
This evening we all dined on Jackie’s spicy three coloured fusilli pasta arrabbiata with which she drank Hoegaarden and I drank Les Aumôniers Séguret Côte du Rhône Villages 2020.
I have enjoyed seeing this comparison 🙂
Thank you very much, Anne
It’s wonderful to have the comparison photos–both lovely and filled with smiles (and garden flowers).
Thank you so much, Merril
You’re title of different hair colour intrigued me. At first I wondered if you had dyed your hair. Two pictures are very cute. Thanks for sharing.
Much appreciated, Pat
Generational twins. Beautiful.
Thanks very much, Chrissy
These are lovely family photos, guys! Enjoy your holiday. ☺️????????
Thanks very much, John
Flo certainly was a little cutie in that photo! (As is Ellie in her grandmother photo.)
Thanks very much, Liz
You’re welcome, Derrick.
Conversely, our local Co-op was unusually well stocked today.
Thanks a lot, Tootlepedal.
Marvelous family history in photos! (Jackie hasn’t aged a day…)
Thank you so much, Maj and Sher
Love the similarities across the years ????
Thank you so much, Val
How fun to see these generational photos 🙂
Thanks very much, Barbara
Beautiful photos. How time flies!
Thanks very much, Lakshmi
They have all the similarities except the hair, great smiles too.
Thanks very much, Arlene
Thanks for the sweet smiles!
Much appreciated, JoAnna
It is wonderful to have these photos and be able to look back. 1997 was 26 years ago. It is often hard for me to fathom the swift passage of time.
Indeed, Lavinia. Thank you very much
Seeing these photos together is a treat. Jackie has the same warm smile and maternal care. Thanks for sharing these here, Derrick. This is my last read before slumber. I’m glad the day is ending on a happy note.
Thank you so much, Alys
You’re a braver man than I am, Derrick, taking on Dostoevsky !
Actually this is not considered one of his best, but it is very readable. Thanks very much, John
Beautiful photos…past and present! Beautiful gals in each! ❤️❤️
Time sure flies!
(((HUGS)))
Thank you so much, Carolyn X
Beautiful generational photos. I love the smiles.
Thank you very much, Eugi
Most welcome, Derrick.
Lovely, lovely pictures. Always moving to see the passage of time through the generations.
Thank you so much, Laurie. Such a benefit of photography
Amazing comparison
Thanks very much, Sheree
How lovely to see the duo of images taken years apart! Lovely.
Thank you so much, Dale
🙂
Two lovely pictures, Derrick ????
Thank you very much, Robbie
Great photos, yet Ellie looks much “rounder” than her mother as a baby. Both are adorable!
Thanks very much, Dolly. She is – but Flo was a few months older.
