This morning I worked on the next “A Knight’s Tale” post.
On this unseasonably balmy afternoon Jackie drove us up to the north of the forest, where
donkeys on the road outside Faraway Cottage caused a certain amount of traffic chaos.
My chauffeuse parked at Godshill Pit while I wandered among
dappled woodland with variously hued bracken and tree foliage.
Jackie also pictured spiky gorse, brown and green bracken; and, as I ambled along she produced an image for “Where’s Derrick?” (5)
As we passed a pair of Joggers on the road outside Hale, one, like me in my jacket, had found the day hotter than expected, prompting her to complete the peeling of her sweater.
This evening we dined on succulent pork chops served on a moist melange of leaks, peppers, and onions; boiled and roasted potatoes; flavoursome roast parsnips; crisp Yorkshire pudding, and tasty gravy with which Jackie drank Hoegaarden and I finished the zinfandel.
This past week was an unseasonably warm week as well… in the mid 80 F temps. You have a very unique landscape.

Luckily, I was on my way out the door to pick up a friend to go to a restaurant for comida when I decided to stop and read a few blogs. Your ending promptly whetted my appetite, as usual, and this time I won’t have to wait for hours to satisfy the urge!

I enjoyed traveling through the dappled woodland with you, Derrick. These are our last two days in Europe. It’s another magical, blue sky day here. We had tomato fondue for lunch and raclette for dinner last night with which we drank a yummy Syrah and an Italian Nebbiolo ?

That looks like a determined donkey duo near the Faraway Cottage. It is an idyllic photograph nonetheless, and I wish I was home and had the luxury of a larger screen which would have also facilitated solving the puzzle ‘Where ‘s Derrick?’ Your shooting predilections have kindled in me an interest for the fallen foliage and trees.
